Forecasters say Southeast Louisiana still could see some light snow tonight into tomorrow morning. State Climatologist Barry Keim says, no matter what happens, it’s going to be very cold today, tomorrow and this weekend…:

There is a freeze warning in northwest Louisiana, and a winder weather advisory in the Florida Parishes tonight through tomorrow morning.

The Saints will be in the Mercedes Benz Stadium tonight in Atlanta to take on The Falcons. New Orleans is nine and three while the Dirty Birds come into the contest with a seven and five mark. Quarterback Drew Brees says their passing game has to be top notch tonight because cornerback Desmond Trufant is back..:

The reward for information in the case of the death of a fire chief’s wife in St. Tammany Parish has been increased. The Coroner ruled the death of Nanette Krentel, the wife of Fire District No. 12 Chief Stephen Krentel, a homicide. It was originally thought she died from the fire that destroyed the couple’s home in Lacombe, but autopsy findings confirmed she died of a gunshot wound. The Crimestoppers reward has been increased to $10,000.

Much of the top half the state will be under a freeze warning tonight. Winter weather advisory for southeast Louisiana.

Today Governor John Bel Edwards is in northwest Louisiana for a series of meetings and events. This morning he’s speaking at a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Louisiana Tech facility at the National Cyber Research Park. Edwards will then take part in a dedication ceremony for new combat wounded parking spaces at the Bossier Parish Community College.

Big NFC South showdown tonight for the Saints as they take on the Falcons in Atlanta. It was a short week, and New Orleans Quarterback Drew Brees knows they are going to have their work cut out for them with the Dirty Birds D:

The holiday season is supposed to be a joyous time, but can often be overwhelming, causing seasonal depression. Our Lady of the Lake Psychiatric Nurse Glenda Natale says this time of year, they receive more calls for help dealing with the holiday blues. She says we live in a perfectionist society:

She also says cold, dreary weather like this can add to seasonal depression.

But lots of folks seem excited about a little 4-letter word that’s been appearing in the forecast tonight, at least for southeast Louisiana. Snow? State Climatologist Barry Keim says…:

A freeze warning is in effect for most of the top half of the state from 8 tonight to 9 tomorrow morning. It’s a Winter Weather Advisory for southeast Louisiana.

The 2017 Allstate Sugar Bowl—L-H-S-A-A Prep Classic begins today and runs through Saturday at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. Nine state champions will be crowned over the next three days, and Association Executive Director Eddie Bonine says they anticipate several close games…:

Republican Congressman Mike Johnson of Shreveport and the US House have passed legislation that would allow people to carry their concealed weapons across state lines if they have a permit to do so in their home state. The proposal now heads to the Senate. Democrats do not support the measure. The GOP backed House bill passed on a mostly party-line 231-198 vote.

How about that stat line for DeMarcus Cousins last night in the Pelicans 123-114 win over the Denver Nuggets. Boogie collected a whopping 40 points and grabbed 22 rebounds, gifted 4 assists and blocked 4 shots.

In college hoops, Stephen F Austin edged Louisiana Tech 85-83, ending the Bulldogs 10 straight win streak at home. UL-Lafayette pounded Loyola, 98-56. Louisiana Tech will continue its hardwood rivalry on Tuesday when the Ragin’ Cajuns visit the Bulldogs in Ruston. Earlier Wednesday, Southern fell to Tulane, 96-76.

Governor Edwards has established a seven member task force to review sexual harassment and discrimination policies in state agencies.  They will review current polices, identify the most effective mode of training to prevent harassment and develop a protocol for new employees  The report must be submitted to the Governor no later than March 1.  This all comes after Governor Edwards staff member Johnny Anderson resigned following sexual harassment allegations…

A new study from the University Council on Gender Equity finds that LSU male professors make more money than female professors.  Assistant Accounting Professor Christine Cheng says the data is missing variables such as experience, education and other market factors. But she says additional research needs to be done when outside information is used…

The embattled National Flood Insurance Program is set to expire on Friday if Congress doesn’t take some sort of action.  Congressman Clay Higgins says it’s time to get something done for homeowners.  The public is tired of the constant, “kicking the can down the road”…:

The Saints left for Atlanta today where they’ll play the Falcons tomorrow night in a big NFC South matchup. New Orleans is 9-3 and they lead the NFC South, while the Dirty Birds are 7-and-5 and this is a must win for them, if they want to win the division. New Orleans running back Mark Ingram goes into the game as the second leading rusher in the NFC, with 922 yards.

The Pelicans continue their four-game homestand tonight as they host the Denver Nuggets. These two teams met on November 17th in the Mile High City and the Nuggets beat New Orleans 148-114. That’s the most points given up by the franchise since its move to New Orleans.

In college hoops action….Tulane has already defeated Southern today 95-76. Louisiana Tech begins a four-game homestand against Stephen F Austin. The Bulldogs have won 10 straight at home. Loyola College is at the Ragin Cajuns. UL Lafayette has won six of its last seven.

LSU running back Derius Guice has left open the possibility he may return for his senior season. In an Instagram post Guice says a decision on his football future will be made after the Tigers play Notre Dame in the Citrus Bowl. Tiger Rag Associate Editor James Moran says he’ll be shocked if Guice returns and it will be interesting to see what offensive linemen, like Will Clapp will do…

Louisiana Tech’s Teddy Veal ahs been named Conference USA’s co-newcomer of the year. The transfer from Tulane had 69 catches for 832 yards and five touchdowns during the 2017 campaign.

A new study from the University Council on Gender Equity finds that LSU male professors make significantly more than female professors.  The report took the total wages and calculated the average monthly pay of professors. Assistant Accounting Professor Christine Cheng says there are several factors involved, but it’s alarming that a male professor could make 20-thousand dollars a year more than a female doing the same job…

Louisiana’s Congressional delegation has been pushing for reforms in the National Flood Insurance Program that keep premiums affordable and don’t restrict coverage for flood-prone areas. The program will expire Friday if no action is taken.  Congressman Clay Higgins says he’s frustrated that residents are having to wait for answers…:
