Two people involved in the death of an 11-year-old girl in Opelousas are in custody. Bryla Bell was at the wheel when she died in a police chase. Two young men were in the vehicle with her, prior to the chase and authorities questioned those two men yesterday and the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s office is expected to announce charges against the men later today.

Budget bills have been sent to the House floor after they received approval from the House Appropriations Committee. The proposed spending plan for next fiscal year will contain at least over 200-million dollars in cuts, because the legislature is not expected to replace all of the revenue from temporary taxes that are set to expire on June 30th.
