LSU’s Coach Ed Orgeron had a late afternoon press event yesterday addressing the recent departure of two of the team’s four quarterbacks, as Noel Narcisse and Justin McMillan have decided to skip town. Kevin Barnhart has the story.

A 36-year-old Pineville woman is under arrest after allegedly ripping off a kiddie baseball league while she was treasurer or the organization that ran it. Belinda Warren is facing 18 counts of Forgery, and Theft of 5,000 to 25,000 dollars. Rapides Parish Sheriffs Spokesperson Cpt. Tommy Carnline says the board began realizing a few months ago that large scale transactions were taking place… over the offseason.

Former Deputies Chris Kimble and Tiffany Brister admitted to making plans and heading over to a Pointe Coupee General Hospital bathroom and working a little more than a shift. Sheriff Bud Torres says they received information about the July 30th encounter, and started investigating.

Orgeron says no decision has been made as to who will be the starting QB when the Tigers set foot on the field against the Miami Hurricanes at this point.

Carnline says he’s noticing an uptick in these kinds of defrauding crimes in Louisiana, but says they tend to be less successful, because they come with a paper trail.

LSU’s quarterback situation is getting hairy as Noel Narcisse isn’t the only guy on his way out of town. Justin McMillan, who also went “missing in action” at practice yesterday says he’s departing from the Tigers as well.

It’s a big shakeup for the Purple and Gold who are down to two Quarterbacks… those being in Ohio State University transfer Joe Burrow, and sophomore quarter back Miles Brennan.

The departure of Narcisse is much more of a surprise to the Tiger football ‘nation.’

Two Yankee elephants from Buffalo, New York are on their way to the Audubon zoo in New Orleans. After a year’s long search for good roommates for the existing elephants at the zoo finally paid off.

Audubon General Curator Joel Hamilton says elephants have been a popular part of the zoo for over three decades, and is looking forward to adding to the herd that’s housed in a new facility built in 2016.

This year’s medicinal cannabis crop in Louisiana is being delayed until November. The holdups are starting to frustrate the pharmacies who’ve been authorized to supply the product in Louisiana. Greg Morrison, who owns the license for Northeast Louisiana, says the uncertainty surrounding the start dates are costing businesses money.

Morris says pharmacies just want clarity on when their patients will get access to the treatment.

Morris was to meet with Louisiana Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain to discuss the issues related to the delay.
A Lafayette man has been cited with criminal mischief after allegedly crying wolf about his sinking ship.

Benjamin Becnel could be facing a 500 dollar fine and some prison time calling in what authorities say was a false alarm Monday on the waters in Pointe Coupee Parish.

Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Spokesperson Adam Einck says Becnel never explained why he did it.

Authorities are seeking 24-year-old Keithen Banks for many alarming reasons including Burglary, Theft, and Vehicle Arson. Banks is a wanted man by several agencies in Jefferson Parish.

The public is being asked by the State Fire Marshal to help in locating the man. Spokesperson Ashley Rodrigue says anyone willing to commit a crime with fire is a dangerous person. Rodrigue also says anyone found to be helping Banks cover his tracks could be facing punishment as well.

Rodrigue says if you are concerned about retribution for contributing information that leads to an arrest, tips can be submitted anonymously.

The Advocate newspaper reports that alleged serial killer Ryan Sharpe was ruled incompetent to stand trial on Tuesday. He is accused of killing three men in 2017, shooting them because he was quote, “filling 5 tags” issued to him by the government. Sharpe also said that he had killed one deer that was worth two of the government issued tags but that had to use the three other tags on humans.

How do you get two elephants from a Buffalo? The Audubon zoo in New Orleans snagged two elephants from a zoo in Buffalo New York. after a year’s long search for good roommates for the existing elephants at the zoo paid off. Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman, Lt. Bill Davis says 38-year-old Shandy Salgado was taken into custody attacking an elderly man. Davis says the victim was treated at the scene for his injuries and was later taken to a medical facility for further evaluation.

It was not the first time Salgado has seen the inside of a jail cell. Last week he was arrested for growing marijuana in his backyard.

Parker Gary, now 19, was accused of shooting his grandfather, Warren Gary, in his sleep and obstruction of justice in the murder of Dedrick Gant. District Attorney of the 31stJudicial District, Michael Cassidy says the family agreed with the sentence.

The feds will be holding another auction of leases for oil and gas plots in the Gulf of Mexico today. Industry analysts say the last bid was disrupted by uncertainty surrounding royalty rates. Tulane Energy Institute Interim Director Eric Smith cautions that the bid likely won’t be a barn burner, because it’s still less economical to drill over water than it is to set up shop on land.

Head Coach Ed Orgeron will address the subject at a press conference tonight at 645 after practice wraps up, and it’s sure to be an interesting practice at that.

ESPN has announced that longtime sportscaster Sean McDonough will handle play by play duties for the LSU/MIAMI game September 2nd. Todd Blackledge will offer color analysis while Holly Rowe handles the sidelines. McDonough has been on Monday night football for the past two years.

Louisiana-Lafayette has released its 2018-2019 home men’s basketball schedule. The Ragin Cajuns will host Louisiana Tech along with the first visit in more than 30 years by Southern University. That game will be played December 1st. The game with the Jags will be the first one since 1996.

The G-Men look to solidify their starting roster before the season opener against the Ragin’ Cajuns and the most important position up for grabs is quarterback.
Jeremy Hickbottom is the likely starter for that game, but head coach Broderick Fobbs has indicated that the spot is open for someone to take control.
The Tigers have plenty of talent to help build a successful offense this year and Hickbottom said he welcomes the challenge.
Kickoff for the season opener in Lafayette is set for September 1 at 6:00 p.m.
