Every year, 250,000 members of the military transition out of service and into civilian work. Now, Google has a new tool to help those vets on the job hunt. Google Project Leader, Joy Xi, (She) says when the term “Jobs for Veterans” is searched on Google, the search engine will then match vets with potential employers via the vet’s military occupational specialty code. Xi says the tool reinforces that vets have gained valuable skills in the military.

DCFS is offering a second chance to delinquent dads and moms who’ve had their driver’s license revoked for not paying child support. The “Back on the Road” program allows you to pay a smaller portion of your back owed debts so you can get behind the wheel again. The “Citizens for a New Louisiana” petition states “the use of taxpayer funds to promote sexual deviancy to three-year-olds is shocking.” Executive Director Michael Lunsford says there’s a lot of opposition to the reading.

DCFS is offering a second chance to delinquent dads and moms who’ve had their driver’s license revoked for not paying child support. The “Back on the Road” program allows you to pay a smaller portion of your back owed debts so you can get behind the wheel again. Child Support Enforcement Director Lydia Scales says if they can get parents road eligible, they’re more likely to pay their debts.

LSU announced today they’ll host Army for a football game on October 21, 2023. It will only be the second meeting between the two schools. They last met in 1931 and the Black Knights posted a 20-0 win over over the Olde War School in West Pointe, New York.

The SEC announced today there will be a visible television timeout countdown clock on the field at all 14 SEC on-campus venues for this season. It will let the teams, game officials and fans know how much time is left in a commercial break. When the display reaches zero, the game officials will make the ball ready for play. The clock will make its debut on Thursday night when Texas A-and-M hosts Northwestern State.

The Saints final preseason game is Thursday night when they host the L-A Rams. Once that game is over, the Black and Gold must cut their roster to 53 by 3:00 on Saturday. Following Saturday’s game against the Chargers, Coach Sean Payton said the depth chart at wide receiver is written in chalk. Tommylee Lewis and Austin Carr and Michael Floyd are on the bubble.

The director of the Office of State Procurement has put a halt on contract negotiations regarding new voting machines between the Secretary of State’s office and Dominion Voting Systems. The reason for the delay is that one of the losing bidders for the contract claim the bid process was mishandled by interim Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin.

A group called the “Citizens for a New Louisiana” is collecting signatures for peitition that attempts to get the Lafayette Parish-City Council to state their position on a scheduled Drag Queen story time event at the public library in October. Executive director Michael Lunsford says the public should know how the council feels about men dressed in drag reading to children…

The council heard public testimony from two dozen speakers on the Drag Queen Story time event last week and all but one opposed it.

Authorities in southwest Louisiana are trying to determine who fatally shot a Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s office dispatcher on Monday morning in front of her home. DeRidder Police John Gott is seeking the public’s help….

Child Support Enforcement Director Lydia Scales says there’s a few ways parents can get the process of road reinstatement started.

Former Tuerlings Catholic star Coley Kelley starts at QB for Arkansas’ season opener at home against Eastern Illinois.

And Alabama Coach Nick Saban is still undeceded on a starting quarterback against Louisville on Saturday.

The Saints are back at practice today getting ready for the preseason finale on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Rams. The coaching staff still has a lot of questions to answer, especially at wide receiver. You know Michael Thomas is the number one wideout, but none of the other receivers on the roster have stood out during training camp, except rookie Tre-Quan Smith. Veteran Ted Ginn Junior is averaging just five yards a catch in preseason games and free-agent signee Cameron Meredith has been a non-factor.

There’s talk at this time every year on whether four preseason games is over kill. Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones said on a Dallas radio station that he remains in favor an 18-game regular season schedule and just two preseason games. Jones says a longer regular season and shortened training camp would probably be better physically for the players and they can make more money.

Former LSU star Odell Beckham Junior is the NFL’s highest paid receiver after agreeing to a five-year contract extension worth about 95-million dollars, 65-million dollars guaranteed.
