Two teenagers have been charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of an Airman stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base. Sergeant 30-year-old Joshua Kidd of Bossier City was found with a gunshot wound to his chest last Tuesday. Police say evidence linked 17-year-old Jareona Crosby and a 15-year-old male to the murder.

One woman died, but another woman survived after being trapped in an overturned vehicle in a water filled ditch for more than 30-hours. The victims are from Eunice and the single vehicle wreck occurred in West Baton Rouge Pairsh. Lt. Ken Albarez says two friends of the girls went looking for them after they did not return home and somehow found the damaged car…

A Cameron Parish woman body was found burned with gasoline in what’s being investigated as a possible homicide. Parish Sheriff Ron Johnson says if authorities conclude it’s not a homicide case, whoever dumped the corpse still isn’t getting off Scott free.

32-year-old Mitzie B. Galimidi appears to have already been dead when her body was brought to the scene and doused, according to authorities.

Louisiana will receive 3.6 million dollars from the U-S Department of Education to help schools statewide develop and expand their emergency operation plans for disasters, whether they are natural or manmade. The governor’s education policy advisor, Donald Songy, says they want every school to have a plan in place if students are threatened

One woman is dead and another in the hospital after being trapped in an overturned vehicle stranded in a canal. Brittany Guillory and Jada Jones, both of Ville Platte, were on the way home when the vehicle drove off a curve on North Line Road in Port Allen.  West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Ken Albarez says the car struck some trees in its path.

Humane Society of Louisiana Executive Director Jeff Dorson says they’ll be pushing local authorities for a harsh sentence for the perpetrator.

Elsewhere around the NFC South, safety Eric Reid is set to make his Carolina Panthers debut this Sunday. Reid has kneeled during the National Anthem in the past, but told reporters Monday he’s not sure how he will continue to raise awareness in the fight against social injustice at Sunday’s game against the Giants.

And the Bucs announce Jameis Winston will return as the starting quarterback when Tampa Bay comes back from its bye week.

In the Tigers win over Ole Miss, LSU held the top passing team in the SEC to just 178 passing yards. But Coach Ed Orgeron is still not entirely happy with the pass rush…

State Police has arrested one of its own Troopers and charged him with felony Abuse of Office. L-S-P says an investigation has determined that John Kelly used his authorized access to law enforcement databases for unauthorized activities. Kelly was booked into the Bossier Parish prison and bond set at 10-thousand dollars.

Ford testified for nearly four hours last Thursday in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee alleging Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh tried to rape her. There will be a vigil at 8 PM tonight outside of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center for late LSU basketball player Wayde Sims, who was fatally shot last week. 20-year-old Dyteon Simpson has been charged in Sims’ murder. The Advocate reports Simpson was known as a quiet, churchgoer.

Orgeron says starting center Lloyd Cushenberry is the latest offensive lineman to get hurt and he’s very questionable for Saturday’s game against Florida. True freshman Cole Smith took over for Cushenberry when he got hurt against Ole Miss.

On the recruiting front, Ruston High offensive lineman Ray Parker announced his commitment to LSU. He’s a four-star prospect.

It was a no brainer for the Conference USA to name Louisiana Tech defensive end Jaylon Ferguson as the Defensive Player of the Week. He set a career-high with four sacks in a single game. He’s only 4.5 sacks away from tying the program record. Bulldogs kicker Bailey Hale was also named Special Teams Player of the Week.

McNeese Senior linebacker BJ Blunt has been named the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Cowboys 17-10 win over Stephen F Austin. The New Orleans native had a career-high 12 tackles, along with two sacks and a fumble recovery. The Cowboys are ranked 9th in the FCS poll, the Colonels are ranked 12th.

The Saints are 3-1 and in first place in the NFC South. In the win over the Giants, the defense looked like the one we saw when New Orleans won the NFC South last year. Defensive end Cam Jordan agrees…
