Natchitoches Police are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of 23-year-old Marcus Sowell. Officers responded to a call around 1 am Tuesday morning in the 300 block of Texas Street about a gunshot victim in the parking lot. Sowell was taken to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead due to his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Plaquemine Police are looking for a man accused of killing two people while sitting at a red-light early Sunday morning. A warrant has been issued for 22-year-old Markeithan Jamal McGinnis for two counts of first-degree murder after Justin Young and Marcus Williams were killed. Police say it’s the latest in a feud that’s been going on since 2018.
