While some say the idea being discussed of changing to a closed-party primary is too expensive and not fair, Governor Landry’s administration says otherwise. Brooke Thorington has more.

Parts of Northwest Louisiana may have noticed the earth move this morning. An earthquake measuring a magnitude of 2.8 centered near Hall Summit in Red River Parish struck just before 9:00 this morning. While not a very large one. Some area residents took to social media to says their house shook.

The extreme drought of 2023 was devastating for many Louisiana farmers and crawfish consumers are about to see the consequences. LSU Ag Center crawfish specialist Mark Shirley is predicting this could be the worst season ever. Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain says expect to pay more crawfish this season…

33 year old Kenneth Moody of Arkansas was sentenced to a year and a half in federal prison after threatening to commit a mass shooting at Natchez High School in Mississippi in 2022. Authorities say Moody confessed to planning the mass shooting for months and he was armed with loaded weapons. Moody was charged with one count of interstate communication of a threat as the result of a threatening phone call.

A Louisiana shrimper who went missing for six days is back home with his family. It all started when Timothy Chermaie’s shrimp boat stopped working near Venice. Cheramie says he spent three days on that boat. After no one came to help, He ended up using an aluminum table as a raft to travel an estimated 12 miles to safety.
