Last night in the C-B-I tournament….ULM held off Eastern Michigan 71-67 as Tylor Ongwae had a season-high 26 points. The Warhawks will play Mercer in a CBI quarterfinal game on Monday. And Northwestern State hosts U-T Martin tonight in the College Insider-dot-com tournament.
The Saints have reportedly restructured cornerback Kennan Lewis’ contract. The adjustment apparently gives New Orleans some more salary cap relief and gives Lewis more guaranteed money, which is what he was looking for.
The Pelicans continue their push for the playoffs tonight as they visit the Phoenix Suns. New Orleans has won 10 of its last 13 and they are a half-game back of Oklahoma City for the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
In the NBA last night, former Ragin Cajuns star Elfrid Payton had a triple-double in the Magic’s 107-102 loss to Dallas. Payton had 15 points, 12 assists and ten rebounds.
The number one ranked LSU baseball team begins a three game series against Arkansas tonight. It’s the Tigers first true road game of the season. The Razorbacks were swept last weekend by Vanderbilt and they are 10-and-8 overall.
The LHSAA state wrestling tournament will take place in Bossier City the next two years. The two day event is usually held at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner.
