The number one ranked LSU baseball team is in position to win a bunch of championships over the next six weeks. LSU right-hander Alex Lange has been named SEC Freshman of the Week. Lange allowed just one run on two hits in seven innings as the Tigers defeated Missouri eight to two on Saturday.
The Saints have announced they’ve signed six of their 2015 draft picks and that includes Quarterback Garrett Grayson and linebacker Hau’oli Kikaha. (Ha-ol-e Ki-Ka-ha).
But the big story out of the NFL is that the league has suspended Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for the first four games of the upcoming season. The franchise has also been fined one-million dollars and loses its 2016 first round draft pick as a result of an investigation that looked into the Patriots purposely defalating footballs to lower amounts that the league has specified. The Saints by the way, will play New England in week two of the preseason.
There are reports that Ruston athletic director and former football coach Billy Laird suffered a stroke over the weekend. Acccording to K-T-VE’s Brady Renard, doctors are still performing tests. Laird was the head football coach Ruston, before stepping down a couple of years ago. He was a quarterback at Louisiana Tech prior Terry Bradsaw in the 1960s.
