Governor Edwards says Interim Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin’s public assertion that the former Mayor of New Roads “illegally cast his ballot” is “extremely troubling”…
One of the nation’s top high school running backs in the nation has committed to LSU. Destrehan’s John Emery is rated as the second best running back in the country, according to 24-7 sports. Tiger Rag Editor James Moran says Emery could be the next great running back to come through Baton Rouge
Emery committed to Georgia during the summer, but de-committed 12 days later after watching the Tigers upset the Bulldogs in Death Valley. Moran says this is a big win for Coach Ed Orgeron on the recruiting front
The addition of Emery to the 2019 recruiting class moves LSU to fifth in the 24-7 sports team rankings. Morgan says the class is loaded with the state’s top players…
The early signing period is December 19th to the 21st.
Governor Edwards is criticizing a decision by interim Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin to publicly claim the former Mayor of New Roads “illegally cast his ballot” in the midterm election, when the Governor says further review showed Robert Myer was actually eligible to vote. Ardoin says he made that assertion after discovering Myer’s name was never added to the “can’t vote” list after his conviction in January.
Myer completed his probation sentence for Malfeasance in July of 2018. The Governor’s office says that made him eligible to vote in November.
Edwards sent a letter saying Ardoin’s behavior in the matter was unacceptable for a Secretary of State, but Ardoin says the incident is emblematic of system problems in Louisiana’s voting records system, and he’s called in some help to address it.
The Governor called Ardoin’s behavior an “extremely troubling” election season stunt.
Ardoin says his office checked the record twice, and did not find Mr. Myer’s name on their felon list. That he says created a series of problems in the process that would have recertified Mr. Myer’s right to vote.
The Republican Interim Secretary is running for election in the December 8th Secretary of State run-off against Democrat Gwen Collins-Greenup.

Many residents in north central Louisiana woke up to snow falling and it goes down as the earliest accumulation of snowfall for that part of the state. National Weather Service Shreveport meteorologist Mario Valverde says a light dusting of snow covered several parishes, but the most accumulation was in Monroe.
Although the state has seen snowfall on record that came earlier in the year, Valverde says this is the earliest the state has seen accumulating snow.
Cut 10 (10) “…this is a record“
The previous record for earliest snowfall accumulation in Monroe was November 24, 1950.
National Weather Service Lake Charles meteorologist Rob Meginia says most of the state will see temps at or below freezing tonight and going into tomorrow morning, with the coastal areas likely being the only area spared of getting that low.
Cut 11 (07) “…in the mid 30s.”
Meginia says the lowest temps are expected to occur in the few hours just before sunrise and the further inland, the lower the temps.
Cut 12 (08) “…27 or 28 degrees.”
The National Weather Service says tonight is the night to bundle up people, pets, pipes, and plants.

New Orleans was the host city for WWE’s annual Wrestlemania event back in April, and now we know the economic impact. It’s estimated that the over 78-thousand in attendance for the event at the Mercedes Benz Superdome contributed to a $175-million boom for the economy of the New Orleans region. Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser
Cut 13 (10) “…local restaurants.”
The boost marks a significant increase from the $142 million generated when New Orleans had first hosted Wrestlemania in 2014. Nungesser says the city loves to throw a party and he hopes the pro wrestling event will return to the Big Easy soon.
