A Winter Weather advisory goes into effect in North Louisiana at six tonight. National Weather Service Meteorologist Matt Hemingway says travel could become treacherous because of the possibility of winter precipitation.
Cut 3 (09) “…daybreak tomorrow morning.”
The winter weather advisory covers Shreveport, Homer, Ruston, Monroe and Winnfield. Hemingway says any wintry mix that North Louisiana experiences will pale in comparison to the historic snowfall that South Louisiana got last month.

Hemingway says temperatures will really start to plummet tomorrow night.
Hemingway says for central and south Louisiana, this storm system could bring the possibility of heavy rainfall and there’s also a chance we’ll see hail.

An argument at the breakfast table turns deadly in LaPlace. 24-year-old Tamyrihu (tam-uh-REE-hoo) Hubbard of Marrero is behind bars in connection with the shooting death of her boyfriend, 23-year-old Joshua Jones. St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Trege says the couple had been having problems, and the argument over breakfast was the last straw.

Sheriff Trege says the problems had been going on for quite some time.

Trege says prosecutors have charged Hubbard with second-degree murder.

Hubbard’s bond is set at one-million dollars.

FAFSA Frenzy Week is underway. Throughout this week, post-secondary institutions are hosting events to help people complete their Free Applications for Federal Student Aid. Ebony Holmes with the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance, says FAFSA is the starting point for financial aid.

Holmes says at this juncture, time is now of the essence in getting the FAFSA form completed.
Cut 10 (10) “…that FAFSA completed.”
Holmes says the problems that persisted with FAFSA last year have been resolved.

LSU men’s basketball is suffering through a bad season, the second in three years with Matt McMahon as the head coach. But LSU is not planning on firing McMahon at the end of the season.
