University of Louisiana at Monroe has made a statement concerning offensive comments made on a private internet group exchange. President Nick Bruno says they have suspended the fraternity Kappa Sigma Pledge for the comments. Bruno says, he is quote “angry and embarrassed that students of the institution chose to conduct themselves in this manner.” He adds that a thorough investigation will be conducted and appropriate actions will be taken.
Investigators are seeking answers in the death of an eight month old child left in a car for several hours. Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Dawn Panepinto says the child’s guardian never dropped off the child to a day care center and when they returned to the daycare to pick up the toddler, it was discovered the infant was still in the vehicle…
She says the guardian is cooperating with police.

Former Monroe TV children’s show personality Frank Selas will stand trial on child molestation charges on February 5th. That’s the word from his attorney Mike Small. Selas, also known as Mr. Wonder, allegedly raped a child during a 1979 camping trip in Rapides Parish. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
