A federal judge in Baton Rouge denied Governor Bobby Jindal’s request to block federal officials from penalizing the state if Louisiana decides to stop using the Common Core education standards. Judge Shelly Dick rejected the governor’s motion for a preliminary injunction, because Jindal’s lawyers didn’t show any evidence that such a threat will occur.
