The Department of Health and Hospitals says they’ve found a brain eating amoeba in a water system in Terrebonne Parish. State Health Officer Dr. Jimmy Guidry says this is the third water system in the state to test positive for the amoeba this summer and one reason is because they are using a better test…

A 16-year-old Plaquemine High School student was arrested after authorities say he brought a loaded gun to school. Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office Major Ronnie Hebert believes the juvenile suspect brought the weapon to school with the intent of harming another student who was on the football team…:
