The heavy storms and excessive rainfall during the spring and early summer that resulted in the Red River flooding has caused an estimated 7 million dollars in damage to agriculture in Northwest Louisiana. LSU AgCenter economist Kurt Guidry says that is a conservative estimate, and the amount could likely go up at harvest time.

Authorities say the search under the I-10 bridge in Lake Charles this week was related to a suspected body dumping case — and now they’re pretty sure; even though no remains have been found.
