The man accused of shooting a freshman student in Lafayette has been re-sentenced today. Seth Fontenot was originally charged with first degree murder in the death of 15 year-old Austin Rivault, but the jury returned verdicts for a lesser charge. Today, the judge reduced Fontenot’s previous 3 year sentence to 13 months at hard labor instead.
