A staff member at Red River Academy in LeCompte (la-COUNT) is under arrest for allegedly attempting to rape a a female teenaged student. Rapides Parish Sheriff’s office Lt. Tommy Carnline says their detectives began their investigation into the complaint by the young woman…:

The charges are 1 count of sexual battery, another of attempted forcible rape, and 1 count of prohibited sexual conduct between educator and student.

Louisiana has filed a motion to have their case for the gay marriage ban heard in the nation’s highest court, before the Federal Appeals Court in New Orleans rules. A Federal Judge has already upheld Louisiana’s gay marriage ban, and the 5th Circuit will hold a hearing on the case next month.
