A civil district judge in New Orleans declares that New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson is legally competent to run the teams. His estranged heirs tried to prove the 87 year-old Benson was mentally unsound when he made the decision to transfer ownership to his wife Gayle, upon his death. Legal analysts say today is a victory for Benson, but his legal battles are not over.

The US Supreme Court has barred Louisiana from executing a man convicted of the 1993 killing an off-duty Baton Rouge Police officer because his mental disability. Kevan Brumfield was convicted in the shooting death of Cpl. Betty Smothers. Legal analyst Tim Meche says this decision could be a game changer…
