Law enforcement agencies around the state are mourning the death of Westwego Police officer Michael Louviere. The war veteran and father of two was fatally shot this morning in Marrero while assisting a woman who was involved in a car crash. Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand….

The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Sylvester Holt and Normand says they believe he had a relationship with the female victim. There’s a heavy police presense at Crescent City Connection Bridge as a man is threatening to jump. That man is believed to be Holt.

We’re waiting to get more information from the West Monroe police department about a fatal shooting in which a pizza delivery driver reportedly killed a man who was attempting a robbery during a delivery. Police have told local TV stations that the shooter acted in self-defense.
