The 32-year-old signed a new two-year contract in May and winning a Super Bowl for his hometown team remains his number one goal.

The Saints had yesterday off. We’ll see if cornerback Marshawn Lattimore returns to practice today. Lattimore left practice early on Friday with a hip flexor injury and did not practice on Saturday.

The Saints announced the signing of a couple of offensive linemen, including veteran Jesse Davis, who has appeared in 95 NFL games and has made 72 starts, most of those came during the 2017 to 2021 seasons with the Dolphins. Guard Tremayne Anchrum Junior has also been added to the roster. He’s appeared in 31 games since he was selected in the 7th round by the Los Angeles Rams in 2020. Tackle Justin Herron has been placed on injured reserve.

Warren Easton offensive lineman Jalan Chapman has announced his commitment to LSU. Chapman also had offers from Alabama, Oregon and U-S-C. He’s a 2026 recruit and the third from New Orleans in that class, McDonogh 35’s Jakai Anderson and Edna Karr defensive lineman Richard Anderson. Chapman is ranked as the 17th best player in Louisiana’s Class of 2026 according to 247 sports.

At the Olympics…LSU star gymnast Aleah Finegan, who is competing for the Phillipeans did not make it to Thursday’s all-around final. She fell on the balance beam.

Former LSU beach volleyball stars Kristen Nuss znd Taryn Kloth compete against Australia at 3 PM our time.

The Astros fell into a first place tie with the Mariners in the American League West after Seattle swept the hapless Chicago White Sox. The Astros lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers six to two. Former Ragin Cajun star Spencer Arrighetti struck out eight over six innings and allowed three runs, but suffered the loss.
