It’s likely Saturday will be LSU running back Leonard Fournette’s final game in Tiger Stadium. The junior from New Orleans is expected to be a Top Five pick in next spring’s NFL draft, but he admits it will be hard to leave college early…:

Fournette says the juniors on the team will meet with Coach Ed Orgeron after the season to determine whether they should return for their senior season.

In college hoops, LSU is now 2-0 following a 78-61 win last night over Southern Mississippi in the PMAC. Antonio Blakeney posted the ninth 20-plus point game of his LSU career, putting up 26 on the board.

In the NBA, the Pelicans face the Magic tonight in Orlando. It’s reported the Pels top two guards, Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans, have returned to practice. Won’t play tonight but New Orleans hopes it’s the last time they are listed out.

ULM takes a two-game winning streak to Appalachian State this Saturday. The Warhawks are coming off a 37-23 win over Georgia State on the road. Coach Matt Viator likes how his team is overcoming adversity…:

Saturday could also mark Leonard Fournette’s final game inside Tiger Stadium. Fournette says he continues to get treatment on his injured ankle, but he’ll be ready to play this Saturday.

Grambling State Head Coach Broderick Fobbs is a finalist for the F-C-S Coach of the Year. Fobbs and the Tigers are 8-1, heading into Saturday’s game against Texas Southern.

Three Saints players did not practice today, offensive tackle Terron Armstead, cornerback Delvin Breaux and running back Daniel Lasco. New Orleans is at Carolina on Thursday.

UL Lafayette Football Coach Mark Hudspeth says his team will conduct one-thousand hours of community service as result of a viral video that shows four players in the locker room using vulgarity during an anti-Donald Trump rap song. Hudspeth says they’ll visit every middle school and high school in Acadiana…

Louisiana Tech will play in the Conference USA title game on December 3rd and it’s their hope to play the game in Shreveport. For that to happen, the Bulldogs will have to beat Southern Miss in the regular season finale and Western Kentucky will have to beat Marshall.

UL Lafayette Football Coach Mark Hudspeth has announced plans on how to avoid another viral video coming out the locker room that has put the school in a very uncomfortable situation. The video shows four football players singing an anti-Donald Trump rap song and it’s filled vulgar language. He says they also have taken steps to ensure the locker room breeds an environment of discipline, relaxation and comfort….

The Senior Day game kicks off at noon in Tiger Stadium Saturday. The SEC announced LSU and Texas A&M will kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Thanksgiving in College Station.

There are plenty of honors going out to college athletes in Louisiana this week. LSU running back Derrius Guice and offensive lineman Ethan Pocic have been named SEC Players of the Week. Guice ran for 252 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Arkansas. Pocic led the Tigers with 11 knockdown blocks.

Louisiana Tech kicker Carlos Henderson once again picked up the C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week after posting his second kickoff return for a touchdown this season in the win over Texas San Antonio.

In the Sun Belt, ULM running back Thomas Koufie is the Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 5 touchdowns in the win over Georgia State.

This story has been making national headlines, and once again UL-Lafayette coach Mark Hudspeth is apologizing for the video showing some of his players dancing and singing to a profanity laced anti-Donald Trump rap song inside the locker room…:

In the NBA, the Pelicans have now won their second game of the season and their first at home. New Orleans slipped by the Celtics Monday night 106-105 in front of a thrilled crowd in the Smoothie King Center.

The NFL’s senior vice president of officiating says the blocked extra point by the Broncos was perfectly legal. Dean Blandino says Justin Simmons was able to leap over the line of scrimmage without using his hands or arms and didn’t land on a player, so the action is legal. Blandino says the move that pushed the snapper to the ground by a Broncos player was also leagal. And Blandino says it was too difficult to tell for sure if Will Parks stepped out of bounds as he was returning the ball for two points, so the call on the field stands.

The controversial play has resulted in a 4-5 record for the Saints and they now must get ready for the Carolina Panthers.

LSU is getting ready to play Florida this Saturday. It will be Senior Day. Tigers Coach Ed Orgeron is grateful for what these players have done, especially after the coaching change….

LSU is listed as a two touchdown favorite to beat Florida. And Orgeron expects running back Leonard Fournette will be available for the game, despite limping off the field in the win over Arkansas.

It was a crushing defeat when just as the Saints were poised to pull ahead of Denver late in the game, a blocked extra point became a three-point swing, giving the Broncos the 25-23 victory. Quarterback Drew Brees touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks tied the game, but a jubilant Dome went silent when the blocked kick was returned for a score. The Saints committed four turnovers in the game and now fall to 4-5.
LSU dominated Arkansas in Razordback Stadium Saturday night and now the Golden Boot Trophy is back in Baton Rouge for the first time in two years. LSU had 390 yards rushing. Derrius Guice led the way with 252 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns. Interim Coach Ed Orgeron says he still had faith in his offense after a tough performance against Alabama:

Also at six o’ clock tomorrow, ULM is at Arkansas State, McNeese hosts Abilene Christian and Northwestern State hosts Nicholls. The Demons have won the last two meetings in this series. The big game in the Southland Conference is Southeastern Louisiana hosting Central Arkansas. The Lions have won three in a row, while the 18th ranked Bears are 6-1 overall. Kickoff is at 2:30.

In other action, Tulane hosts SMU, Southern is at Alcorn State and Grambling looks to improve 6-1 with a win over Arkansas Pine-Bluff.

The Pelicans lost to the Golden state Warriors 114 to 122 last night and are now 0-2. Anthony Davis scored 45 points and had 17 rebounds in his 41 minutes of playing time.

The big story line for Sunday’s Saints-Seahawks game is the return of tight end Jimmy Graham to New Orleans. Graham became a huge star in the NFL because of his productivity with the Saints. He has not put up the same type of numbers in Seattle. Tomorrow night in Ruston, it will be Louisiana Tech hosting Rice. Tech has the third best passing offense in college football. Rice won its first game of the season last week. Owls quarterback Tyler Stehling threw for 407 yards and five touchdowns in the win over Prairie View.

So what will Anthony Davis do for Game two. Davis scored 50 points in a loss to Denver in the season opener. Tonight A-D and the Pelicans host the Golden State Warriors. The defending Western Conference champs also lost their season opener as they were blown out by San Antonio. Tip-off is at 8:30 tonight as ESPN will televise the contest.

In high school football…the defending champs in Class 1A has a big game tonight as Kentwood travels to Ascension Catholic. Ascension Episcopal visits Lafayette Christian and Amite hosts McDonogh 35 in another interesting non-district game.

The Saints passing game faces a major test this Sunday against Seattle. The Seahawks have become one of the best teams in the league, because of how they defend the pass. New Orleans Quarterback Drew Brees says Seattle’s defense doesn’t have a weak link…:

Sunday’s game also marks the return of tight end Jimmy Graham to the Mercedes Benz Superdome. The Seahawks tight end’s first five seasons in the NFL were in New Orleans where he caught 51 touchdown passes. Brees said it was surprising to see Graham go in the offseason of 2015, adding they were close but both understand that things like that happen in this league. He says he’s sure Graham will be excited to be back, and that the fan base will be happy to see him again, as they appreciate all he did for New Orleans. The FOX game kicks off at noon.

In college football around the state, the Southland Conference Game of the Week comes to Strawberry Stadium, as Southeastern Louisiana hosts No. 18/19 Central Arkansas for a huge 2:30 p.m. league contest Saturday.

McNeese State hosts Abilene Christian on Saturday.

Louisiana Tech takes on a big team too in Ruston as Rice comes to Joe Aillet Stadium in Conference USA action.

Arkansas Pinebluff visits Grambling. It’s homecoming week for the Tigers.

Northwestern State lines up against Nicholls on Saturday night in Turpin Stadium, and the Demons will be celebrating its annual “Military Appreciation Day.”

After dropping back-to-back games against American Athletic Conference foes, Tulane returns home to play its homecoming game against SMU.

In Sunbelt Conference play, Louisiana Monroe travels to take on Arkansas State. The Warhawks are 2-5 overall.

Anthony Davis made NBA history on Wednesday night, but the Pelicans didn’t win. They’ll give it another shot tonight as the Pels return to the Smoothie King Center to face the Golden State warriors at 8:30.
