More bad injury news for the Saints, tight end Adam Trautman will reportedly miss the next four to six weeks with a sprained M-C-L. New Orleans has also reportedly worked out a four-year contract extension with the versatile Taysom Hill. ESPN’s Adam Schefter says Hill will get at least 40-million dollars, but if he becomes the starting quarterback, he could make as much as 95-million dollars.

The Pelicans looked bad in a 110-96 loss to the Timberwolves, but the LSU men’s basketball team looked really good beating up Belmont 83-53. ULM also crushed Northwestern State 96-66.

Since the Saints play again on Thursday, they had to release a practice report, even though they didn’t practice. The team estimates that running back Alvin Kamara, Ryan Ramczyk, Adam Trautman and Marcus Davenport did not practice, while Mark Ingram and Terron Armstead were limited, while Taysom Hill was a full participant.

And there’s a report Hill has signed a four contract extension that could pay him up to 95-million dollars if he becomes the full-time starting quarterback.

New Orleans is now 5-and-5 and still clinging to the seventh and final playoff spot in the NFC. The Saints will host six and five Buffalo on Thanksgiving night. The Colts clobbered the Bills 41-15 yesterday.

In college basketball, LSU hosts Belmont tonight at 7 PM. This afternoon, ULM faces Northwestern State in a game that will be played in Ruston. Yesterday the Cajuns lost to Indiana 76-44. NBA, the Pels host the Timberwolves.

Multiple reports say LSU cornerback Eli Ricks plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Ricks hasn’t played since the loss to Kentucky as he underwent season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum. He was a Freshman All-American last season after intercepting five passes.

LSU linebacker Damone Clark is a finalist for the Butkus award, which goes to the nation’s best linebacker. Clark leads the nation in tackles.

The Tigers conclude the regular season this Saturday night when they host Texas A-and-M. A win for the Bayou Bengals will make them bowl eligible, but Coach Oregeron says that will not be the main motivation…

The short-handed Saints could not stop Philadelphia’s running game and lost their third consecutive game, a 40-29 defeat to the Eagles. New Orleans turned the ball over three times, leading to 17 points for Philadelphia. Saints Quarterback Trevor Siemien was intercepted twice. Darius Slay returned one of the interceptions 51 yards for a touchdown right before halftime to give the Eagles a 20-point lead. Siemien says they made too many mistakes…

Siemian and the Saints were missing four-time Pro Bowl running back Alvin Kamara and starting tackles Terron Armstead and Ryan Ramczyk are also hurt and missed the game. New Orleans will host Buffalo on Thanksgiving night.

The LSU Tigers ended their three-game losing streak with a 24-14 win over ULM. Quarterback Max Johnson returned as the starting quarterback and threw for 319 yards and two touchdowns, but the offense still had trouble putting points on the board. Coach Ed Orgeron admits it was not a pretty win…

The Sun Belt Conference Championship game is set as the Ragin Cajuns will host Appalachian State at 2:30 in Lafayette on December fourth. It’s the third matchup between the two teams in the four-year history of the Sun Belt championship game. But first U-L Lafayette will host ULM to conclude the regular season this Saturday.

Southeastern Louisiana has received an at-large bid into the F-C-S Playoffs and the Lions will hsot Florida A-and-M on Saturday night.

Saints running back Alvin Kamara will miss his second straight game when New Orleans visits Philadelphia on Sunday. Kamara has a knee injury. Plus both of the Black and Gold’s starting tackles have been ruled out, Terron Armstead and Ryan Ramczyk. New Orleans is a two-point underdog heading into Sunday’s game as they try to avoid a three-game losing streak.

LSU football is expected to end its three-game losing streak when they host ULM tomorrow night. Coach Ed Orgeron says quarterback Garrett Nussmeier will not play again this season in order to preserve his red-shirt, which means he’ll still have four years of eligibility left. Freshman walk-on Matt O’ Dowd will back-up starter Max Johnson.

The 21st ranked Ragin Cajuns will look to end Liberty’s 15-game winning streak at home when they face the Flames at 3 PM in Lynchburg, Virginia. Liberty has a talented quarterback by the name of Malik Willis, who has almost three thousand yards from scrimmage and 31 total touchdowns.

Louisiana Tech hosts Southern Miss tonight in the Bulldogs’ final home game of the season. That means it’s also senior night. Coach Skip Holtz has not given an indication if senior Austin Kendall will be the starting quarterback after suffering a lower back injury three weeks ago…

Was last night Cole Kelley’s last game in a Southeastern Louisiana uniform? Nicholls upset S-L-U 45-42 spoiling Southeastern’s chances of claiming at least a share of the Southland Conference Championship. The Lions are 8-and-3 and they’ll find out on Sunday if that’s good enough to get into the F-C-S playoffs.

The regular season concludes for Northwestern State and McNeese tomorrow as they play each other in Lake Charles at noon.

The injury news for the Saints is not good. Running back Alvin Kamara and starting tackles Terron Armstead and Ryan Ramczyk did not practice yesterday. Kamara was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. There is a chance that running back Tony Jones could return from injured reserve this week. New Orleans is at Philadelphia on Sunday.

Nicholls Freshman running back Collin Guggenheim rushed for 266 yards and three touchdowns as the Colonels upset 15th ranked Southeastern Louisiana 45-42 in the River Bell Classic last night. The Lions finish the season with an 8-and-3 record and will have to wait until Sunday to find out of its that’s good enough to get into the F-C-S playoffs.

LSU Coach Ed Orgeron says Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier will not play anymore this season in order to preserve his redshirt season. Max Johnson will start tomorrow night against ULM and if something happens to Johnson, freshman walk-on Matt O’ Dowd will play.

Louisiana Tech hosts Southern Miss in the final home game of the season tonight. The Bulldogs snapped a five-game losing streak with a 42-32 win over Charlotte last Saturday. Sophomore Aaron Allen made his first start and threw for 324 yards and two touchdowns. Coach Skip Holtz says he was happy to see Allen play well…

In basketball last night, LSU won easily over McNeese 85-46, TCU dribbled past Nicholls 63-50, SMU Mustangs defeated Southeastern Louisiana 78-61 and after a slow start, the LSU Tigers raced past U-L Lafayette 70-41 in the Cajundome.

Payton let it be known he’s not happy with the officiating this season when he appeared on the Dan Patrick Show today. The Saints were on the wrong end of a roughing the passer call that resulted in the Titans scoring a touchdown. Payton says the problems start at the top, not the individual crews, somehow they got to reduce the variables.

It’s a busy night of sports across the Bayou State. In Hammond, Southeastern Louisiana football will host Nicholls in the River Bell Classic. If the Lions win, they’ll clinch at least a share of the Southland Confernece title and most likely a home playoff game in the FCS playoffs. A win for the Colonels and they will end the year with a winning record for a fifth consecutive season.

LSU men’s basketball hosts McNeese. The Tigers are 3-and-0 on the season, while the Cowboys are 1-and-2. LSU has won 25 straight games against Louisiana schools. Also, NIcholls is at TC, while Southeastern visits SMU.

The Lady Tigers basketball team is at U-L Lafayette. The Lady Cajuns have not beaten LSU since 1974.

The second round of the high school football playoffs begins tonight. St James is at Madison Prep in a game featuring the last two champions in Class 3A. The winner could face top-seeded Sterlington in the quarterfinals next week. The Panthers are at Westlake tomorrow.

Tonight’s NFL game is Atlanta hosting the New England Patriots.

The LSU Tigers and ULM Warhawks will meet for the fourth time on the football field on Saturday. The Tigers have won the three previous meetings between the two teams. ULM has made great strides this season after a winless 2020 campaign. They are four and six this year and coach Terry Bowden knows what the next step is….

After scoring 34 points in the first quarter last night, the Miami Heat burned the Pelicans the 113 to 98 dropping New Orleans record to 2-and-14.

The Saints look to break a two-game losing streak when they visit Philadelphia on Sunday to take on the Eagles. Philly is coming off a nice road win as they defeated the Broncos in Denver 30-13. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts tossed two touchdown passes and also rushed for 55 yards as he’s showing signs of developing into a real good Q-B. Saints defensive end Cam Jordan says Hurts is not your typical running quarterback…

And in a sign he could return from a knee injury for that game, running back Alvin Kamara was back at practice on a limited basis Wednesday. Kickoff is at 12noon.

You’ll be in for a treat if you’ve got plans to attend the Saints game on Thanksgiving Day. It’ll be the first time Drew Brees will be back in the Superdome since his final game in January, and he’ll be honored at halftime.

For the fourth time, ULM will face LSU in football. It’s the first meeting between the two schools since 2014. Warhawks coach Terry Bowden says the Louisiana players on his team are looking forward to this one…
