The LSU Board of Supervisors has approved the separation agreement between the school and football coach Ed Orgeron. That includes Orgeron’s 17-million dollar buyout.

The Pelicans are home tonight to host the Sacramento Kings. New Orleans is 1-and-4 while the Kings are 2-and-2.

Louisiana Tech is looking to snap a three-game losing streak when they visit Old Dominion on Saturday. Most of the Bulldogs’ losses have been close, but not last week, Tech was blown out by UTSA. Coach Skip Holtz took some positives from the game…

ULM looks for its third straight win as they are at Appalachian State. The Ragin Cajuns host Texas State for an 11 AM kick-off. Tulane also has an 11 AM kick-off as they take on second-ranked Cincinnati at Yulman Stadium.

Northwestern State visits Nicholls, McNeese travels to eighth-ranked Southeastern Louisiana. Grambling visits Florida A-and-M and Southern hosts Alcorn State, who is 4-0 in the SWAC.

Saints coach Sean Payton says there’s a high chance running back Mark Ingram will play this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. New Orleans worked out a trade with Houston this week to bring Ingram back to the Saints.

The Black and Gold need all of the offensive firepower they can get because 44-year-old Tom Brady is still playing at a high level. The Bucs QB leads the NFL in completions, passing yards. touchdowns and he’s only thrown three interceptions. Coach Sean Payton says it’s impressive what Brady is doing…

Kick-off Sunday in the Ceasars Superdome is at 3:25 on Sunday.

Conference USA lost Southern Miss and Old Dominion to the Sun Belt this week and now CUSA is looking to add. The Athletic reports that Conference USA is in negotiations to bring New Mexico State, Liberty, and U-Conn into the league. Connecticut would just be a football-playing school. Conference USA has also lost six schools to the American Athletic Conference.

Here’s your slate of college football games on Saturday, the Ragin Cajuns get the day started with an 11 AM kick-off against Texas State. Tulane hosts second-ranked Cincinnati.

ULM tries to pull off another upset as they are at Appalachian State. Louisiana Tech is also out east as they visit Old Dominion, who has just one win on the year.

Running back Mark Ingram is back with the Saints once again teamed up with Alvin Kamara in the backfield as New Orleans has worked out a trade with Houston to acquire the former first-round pick. Ingram’s first eight seasons in the NFL were with the Saints and he scored a franchise-record 50 touchdowns. In seven games with the Texans this season, Ingram is averaging just over three yards a carry and has one touchdown.

Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay will be a big one for Saints starting quarterback Jameis Winston. The former number one pick played five seasons for the Buccaneers. Tampa safety Jordan Whitehead says they know Winston can make plays…

Lake Charles College Prep has been banned from the high school football playoffs for violating LHSAA rules. New enrollment figures are out and it shows Edna Karr and Carencro moving up to 5A, Calvary Baptist, Oak Grove and Grand Lake moving up to Two-A. Class Four-A powerhouse Karr could play in the Catholic League.

Ingram is 31-years-old and spent his first eight NFL seasons in New Orleans and is 89 yards away from becoming the franchise’s all-time leading rusher, surpassing Deuce McAllister. There’s a chance Ingram can play Sunday.

Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram are reuniting as the Saints have reportedly made a trade with the Texans to bring Ingram back to New Orleans. The Saints selected Ingram in the first round of the 2011 draft and he played in the Big Easy for eight seasons, making two trips to the Pro Bowl and he’s the franchise’s second-leading rusher behind Deuce McAllister.

Over in Lafayette, freshman running back Montrell Johnson has started to emerge for the Ragin Cajuns. He’s rushed for over 100 yards in his last two games including a 150-yard, two-touchdown performance last Thursday at Arkansas State. Coach Billy Napier is not surprised the New Orleans native is having an excellent rookie campaign…

The Pelicans fell to one and four last night as they lost to the Atlanta Hawks 102-99. New Orleans led by 16 in the first quarter but the Hawks Trae Young had 31 points and Atlanta had 21 offensive rebounds.

LSU linebacker Bugg Strong has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal. He was the number one junior college linebacker in the country in the 2021 recruiting class. This season Strong has 17 tackles and one sack.

The LSU Board of Supervisors meets today and it’s expected they will approve the termination agreement between the school and Ed Orgeron, which includes the coach receiving a 17-million dollar buyout.

One day after announcing Southern Miss has joined the Sun Belt Conference. Old Dominion becomes the second school in as many days to leave Conference USA for the Sun Belt.

The LHSAA has banned the Lake Charles College Prep from playing in the postseason this year. There’s no information on what led to the sanction. The school released a statement saying they disagree with the punishment.

The Pelicans are back home tonight to take on the Atlanta Hawks. New Orleans is coming off its first win of the season, a 107-98 victory over the Timberwolves. The Hawks are led by the talented Trae Young who is averaging 25 points and ten assists a game. Tip off is at 6:45.

After catching ten passes in the three-point win over Seattle on Monday, Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Former LSU star Ja’Marr Chase has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after setting a Bengals record with 201 receiving yards in a blowout victory over Baltimore.

There are multiple reports LSU linebacker Bugg Strong has entered the transfer portal. Strong was the nation’s number one JUCO linebacker in the 2021 recruiting class but has only played in five games this season.

Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after catching 10 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown in New Orleans 13-10 win over Seattle. Kamara also rushed for 51 yards.

Former LSU Tiger Ja’Marr Chase has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after catching eight passes for a Bengals rookie record 201 yards. Chase was unstoppable in Cincinnati’s impressive 41-17 win over the Ravens. The Bengals are at the Jets this Sunday.

The Saints got a couple of injured offensive linemen back for Monday’s game in Seattle as Terron Armstead and Eric McCoy returned to the field, but there’s a report guard Andrus Peat could miss the rest of the season because of a torn pectoral muscle. Calvin Throckmorton would be Peat’s replacement.

The Pelicans are home tonight to host the Atlanta Hawks at 6:45. New Orleans hopes to build on Monday’s win at Minnesota.

Johnson had a shaky performance against Ole Miss, but Coach Ed Orgeron says Max is still the Tigers starting Q-B for their next game at third-ranked Alabama on November sixth.

Saints kicker Will Lutz says he’ll miss the rest of the season after suffering a setback in his recovery from surgery on a core muscle. So it looks like rookie Brian Johnson is the team’s kicker going forward. And there’s a report offensive guard Andrus Peat could miss the rest of the year with a torn pectoral muscle.

ULM football coach Terry Bowden is making a run at Sun Belt Coach of the Year. The Warhawks went winless during 2020, but they are 4-and-3 this season and riding a two-game winning streak heading into Saturday’s game at Appalachian State. It was not an entertaining game but the Saints won last night, a hard-fought 13-10 victory on the road in Seattle. New kicker Brian Johnson made a couple of field goals in windy conditions, including the game-winner with less two minutes left.

The Saints defense sacked Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith five times. Linebacker Demario Davis had two sacks, four tackles for a loss and ten total tackles. Coach Sean Payton says it a great game from Davis

It’s been a tough 2021 season for the LSU Tigers, but they have a chance to decompress this week as they do not have a game this Saturday. LSU is 4-and-4 and they have four games left in the regular season. Coach Ed Orgeron believes his team is still motivated to win ball games…

LSU has also lost another player to a season-ending injury. Orgeron says sophomore offensive guard Anthony Bradford will not be able to play again this season. But the coach expects junior offensive tackle Cam Wire will return for the Alabama game.

The Fall Classic gets underway tonight as the Astros host the Braves in Game one of the World Series.

In basketball, the Pelicans won their first game of the season last night as they defeated Minnesota 107-98. On Wednesday, the Pels host Atlanta.

The Saints scored just one touchdown last night but it was enough to beat the Seahawks 13-10 in Seattle. Running back Alvin Kamara was productive as a receiver as he caught 10 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. Kamara says the offense will continue to get better

New Saints kicker Brian Johnson kicked two clutch field goals in rainy and windy conditions, including the game-winner with less than two minutes left.

Johnson could be the kicker for the season as Will Lutz announced on social media he’ll miss the season after suffering a setback during his rehab from a core muscle surgery.

And Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that Saints guard Andrus Peat could miss the rest of the season after injuring his pectoral muscle. Rapoport reports Peat may have torn his pectoral, which would end his season.

This LSU football team has been a disappointment, but linebacker Damone Clark is having a big season and improving his draft stock. Number 18 had 18 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in the loss to the Rebels. LSU Coach Ed Orgeron says the senior from Baton Rouge worked hard in the summer to become a better player…
