Rough night for Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals last night. Playing without injured receiver Ja’Marr Chase, the Browns beat the Bengals 32-13. Burrow was sacked five times and turned it over twice.

The Pelicans are off tonight, they’ll visit the 1-and-5 Lakers tomorrow.

15th ranked LSU is a 12.5 point underdog heading into Saturday’s game against 6th ranked Alabama. The Tigers have had a habit of starting game slowly this season, falling behind by a couple of touchdowns and then coming back. LSU would like to avoid that scenario on Saturday night. Coach Brian Kelly says over the last couple of weeks at practice, they’ve started physical contact drills earlier….

The SEC has announced that LSU’s game at Arkansas on November 12th will kick-off at 11 AM in Fayetteville. And Auburn has fired head coach Bryan Harsin. The 45 year-old was 9-12 and in his second year, Auburn has a record of 3-and-5.

The Saints did a lot of things well in a 24-0 win over the Raiders yesterday. The defense did not allow Las Vegas to cross the 50-yard line until there were two minutes left in the game. Running back Alvin Kamara scored three touchdowns and it was another solid outing for quarterback Andy Dalton, who was recently named the starter going forward. Dalton was 22 of 30 for 229 yards and two TDs. Head Coach Dennis Allen says after a slow start to the season, the offense has hit midseason form…

The Saints finally put it all together on Sunday and it resulted in a 24-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara had three touchdowns, two receiving and one rushing after urging his teammates to play with more swagger after losing to Arizona in their last game….

It’s the first time the Saints have shutout an opponent at home since 2012. Up next, another home game on Monday night against the 5-and-3 Baltimore Ravens.

After missing the last two games because of a bruised back and hip from a hard fall, Zion Williamson scored 21 points, had 12 rebounds and seven assists as the Pelicans defeated the Clippers 112 to 91. C-J McCollum had 22 points and was 4-of-8 from three-point range. New Orleans stays in L-A to take on the Lakers on Wednesday night.

Now that it’s Monday, the hype can really start for this Saturday’s LSU-Alabama game. The winner will be in the driver’s seat when it comes to winning the SEC West. Tulane is up to 19 in the A-P Poll and will visit three-and-five Tulsa on Saturday. The Green Wave are in first place in the American Athletic Conference with a 4-0 record.

Coming up this Saturday, the Ragin Cajuns will host Sun Belt West Division leader Troy at 4 PM. Northwestern is 3-0 in the Southland and they’ll visit Texas A-and-M Commerce, who just suffered its first league loss to UIW.

New Orleans is 3-and-5, one game back of Atlanta for first place in the N-F-C South. The Saints will host the 5-and-3 Ravens a week from tonight.

Tonight Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals visit the Cleveland Browns, who have lost four in a row.

LSU moved up three spots in the latest AP Top 25 poll to number 15 as they will host sixth ranked Alabama this Saturday. It’s the first time the two SEC West rivals have been ranked since their 2019 matchup. Former LSU Tiger and ESPN analyst Marcus Spears says the LSU-Alabama game has always been about which team’s playmakers play better….

For the second straight week, Louisiana Tech lost in overtime as the Bulldogs fell to F-I-U 42-34 in double OT in Miami. Freshman Quarterback Landry Lyddy in his first collegiate start threw for 256 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. Smoke Harris had nine catches and Marquis Crosby rushed for 115 yards and two TDs. FIU’s Q-B Grayson James played really well, 321 passing yards and three touchdowns.

ESPN College Gameday is in Jackson, Mississippi today for the Southern-Jackson State matchup. A battle of division leaders in the SWAC.

Grambling hosts Alcorn State. The Tigers have not lost to the Braves at home since 2006.

Nicholls looks for its third straight conference win as they visit Lamar.

And McNeese hosts Southeastern Louisiana for homecoming. The Lions have only turned it over four times. Kick-off is at 7 PM in Lake Charles.

The Pelicans did not have Zion Williamson or Brandon Ingram last night and lost in Phoenix 124-111. Jonas Valanciunas tried to pick up the slack as he had 25 points and ten rebounds. But the Suns shot 52-percent from the field and Mikal Bridges had 27 points in 31 minutes. NOLA visits the Clippers on Sunday.

The two and five Saints will be without three key starters for Sunday’s game against the Raiders. Wide receivers Jarvis Landry, Michael Thomas and cornerback Marshon Lattimore have been ruled out. Five players are listed questionable including guard Andrus Peat and cornerback Paulson Adebo. Kick-off in the Dome is at noon.

In Game one of the World Series, former LSU star Aaron Nola gave up five runs in 4.1 innings last night, but his Phillies came from behind to beat the Astros six to five in ten innings. Houston’s Alex Bregman was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Game two is tonight.

Once again the Saints will play without receivers Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry when take on the Raiders on Sunday in the Superdome. Both have been ruled out and cornerback Marshon Lattimore will also miss the game with an abdomen injury. Cornerback Paulson Adebo, guard Andrus Peat and tight end Adam Trautman are questionable.

New Orleans enters the game with a 2-and-5 record and some are wondering if the Saints can ever be championship contenders again without Drew Brees and Sean Payton. Running back Alvin Kamara disagrees with that sentiment….

Tonight the New Orleans Pelicans begin a three-game road trip in Phoenix. Brandon Ingram did not make the trip as he’s in concussion protocol. Zion Williamson and Herb Jones are questionable for tonight’s game against the Suns. Tip time is at 9 PM.

Last night the Ragin Cajuns lost to Southern Miss 39-24. U-L Lafayette turned it over four times as they fell to 4-and-4 on the season.

Louisiana Tech takes on F-I-U in Miami tonight. It’s unknown who will start at quarterback for the Bulldogs after Matthew Downing went down with a season-ending knee injury and redshirt senior Parker McNeil is considered questionable after he got hurt last week. Freshman Landry Lyddy and sophomore Jack Turner have been getting first-team snaps this week.

Tomorrow, Southern is Jackson State. ESPN College Gameday will be in Jackson for the game that features the division leaders in the SWAC.

Grambling will host Alcorn State. Nicholls is on the road at Lamar and McNeese hosts Southeastern Louisiana.

Tonight is game one of the World Series. The Phillies will start former LSU star and Baton Rouge native Aaron Nola. He’ll try to slow down the Astros powerful offense led by another former LSU star, Alex Bregman. First pitch in Houston is just after 7 PM.

The Ragin Cajuns struggles in Hattiesburg continued last night as U-L Lafayette fell to Southern Miss 32-24 at M-M Roberts Stadium. The Cajuns are now 1-and-24 all-time in Hattiesburg. U-L Lafayette got off to a slow start falling behind 29-5. The Cajuns are now 2-and-3 in the Sun Belt.

Tonight Louisiana Tech visits F-I-U in Miami. The Bulldogs have injury issues at the quarterback position, so freshman Landry Lyddy may get the start. He threw two touchdown passes in an emergency appearance last Saturday and that impressed head coach Sonny Cumbie…

Last night was a busy night of high school football….Airline won its sixth straight district title with a 41-20 victory over Parkway. Avoyelles won the school’s first ever district title with a 68-45 victory over Rosepine. Amite defeated Sterlington 26-20 and Acadiana edged Carencro 21-20.

Southern Miss scored 20 points in the first quarter last night and the Ragin Cajuns could not recover and lost to the Golden Eagles 39-24 in Hattiesburg. The Cajuns got a great night from receiver Michael Jefferson, who had six catches for 179 yards. Quarterback Ben Wooldridge threw for a career-high 336 yards, but he was also intercepted three times.

Tonight Louisiana Tech faces F-I-U in Miami. The Bulldogs are coming off a tough one-point overtime loss to Rice. Tech Head Coach Sonny Cumbie says the team grew from that loss…

Saints Head Coach Dennis Allen announced that Andy Dalton will be the starting quarterback moving forward. Dalton took over the role after starter Jameis Winston exited earlier this year with back and ankle injuries suffered in week 2. In four starts. Dalton has thrown 946 yards, 7 touchdowns and 4 interceptions, 3 of which came in last week’s loss to Arizona. Allen said he’ll keep the starting job as long as production continues, but Saints analyst Mike Detillier warned if the turnovers persist, Dalton could find himself back on the bench…

The LHSAA has suspended Carroll High School Football Coach Brandon Landers and eight of his assistant coaches for the rest of the season after an altercation with law enforcement and fans during last Friday’s football game at Franklin Parish. Announcer Matt Reynolds said prior to the altercation, Carrol coaches were told numerous times by fans and Sheriff deputies to stop using profanity. An intense shoving match took place after officers tried to escort the coaches out the stadium. Reynolds said the match lasted several minutes but is more disappointed that this event will overshadow a great game between two impressive programs

The Pelicans announced all-star forward Brandon Ingram will not be making the upcoming three game road trip with the team as he recovers from a concussion suffered Sunday night against Utah. Starters Zion Williamson and Herb Jones went through parts of today’s practice and have been listed as questionable for tomorrow night’s matchup in Phoenix.
