Saturday night’s game in Death Valley will go down as one of the greatest games ever played in Tiger Stadium as LSU defeated Alabama in overtime 32-31. Every time the Crimson Tide scored, LSU had an answer, and it happened in front of 102-thousand fans. Tigers Coach Brian Kelly says offense, defense and special teams all played well and Tiger Nation was a factor

LSU fans rushed the field again after the win and the SEC has fined the school another 250-thousand dollars. LSU was also fined 250-thousand dollars after students came onto the field following the win against Ole Miss.

The Tigers are now ranked seventh in the AP poll and will travel to Arkansas for an 11 AM kick-off this Saturday in Fayetteville. Alabama dropped four spots in the AP poll to tenth.
After suffering back-to-back overtime losses, Louisiana Tech trounced Middle Tennessee 40-24 on Saturday in Ruston. Junior defensive back Myles Brooks had two interceptions and says the team was determined to win this one…

For the first time since 1990, Ruston High School defeated West Monroe in football as the Bearkats beat the Rebels 35-17. St. Thomas More won another district title as the Cougars downed Lafayette Christian 41-34. Northwood Shreveport knocked off North Desoto 20-19. The playoffs begin next week.

Besides the LSU Bama game, there are other football games in the state today, in Lincoln Parish as Louisiana Tech hosts Middle Tennessee and Grambling faces Arkansas PIne-Bluff.

The Pelicans won last night as New Orleans defeated Golden State 114-to-105. Brandon Ingram returned from a concussion and scored 26 points, while the Warriors decided not to play their best players.

Can’t Guard Mike has turned into Can’t Stay on the Field. The Saints are putting wide receiver Michael Thomas on injured reserve and it’s likely he’ll miss the rest of the season as he needs surgery on a dislocated toe. Thomas got hurt in week 3 and if he doesn’t play again this season that means he’ll only have played ten games over the last three seasons.

There is some good injury news for the Saints as there’s a chance wide receiver Jarvis Landry could return Monday. He has not played since week four and Quarterback Andy Dalton says he’s feeling more comfortable with the offense…

Saints Head Coach Dennis Allen announced that star Wide Receiver Michael Thomas is expected to miss the rest of the season with a foot injury. Thomas suffered the injury week 3 against the Panthers and hasn’t seen the field since. Now with unexpected setbacks in his recovery, Thomas will miss the remainder of the year.

LSU will face sixth-ranked Alabama Saturday. The Tigers are coming off a bye week which allowed them to get healthier for this top-ten matchup. The Pelicans suffered their third loss of the season last night in an overtime heartbreaker to the Lakers. Again without Brandon Ingram and Herb Jones, the pels rallied back from a 16 point deficit before missing two free throws to close the game and falling to Los Angeles in overtime. The pels will be back in New Orleans tomorrow night against the Warriors.

Northwestern State who is 3-and-0 and in first place in the Southland will head to Texas on Saturday to face A&M Commerce. The Lions are having a successful start in their first season in the Southland as they are 3-and-1. Demons Coach Brad Laird says his team needs a good week of preparation…

The Saints return to practice today as they get ready to host the Baltimore Ravens on Monday. While the Pelicans are back home after a tough overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, 120-117 last night.

Louisiana Tech head football coach Sonny Cumbie says senior Parker McNeil will be the starting quarterback this Saturday for the Bulldogs home game against Middle Tennessee. McNeil missed last Friday’s loss to FIU because of an injury. Cumbie says they are also trying to preserve freshman Q-B Landry Lyddy’s red-shirt season…

Cajuns quarterback Chandler Fields is back to full health, but Coach Michael Desormeaux says his plan is to play Ben Wooldridge for the whole game against Troy. Desormeaux likes how Wooldridge has played the last three games. Kick-off against Troy on Saturday is at 4 PM at Cajun Field.

Game Five of the World Series is tonight with the series tied at two games a piece. Four pitchers combined on a no-hitter for Houston last night as the Astros blanked the Phillies five to nothing. Aaron Nola suffered the loss, Alex Bregman had a key two-run double.

Four Astros pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter last night as Houston evened the World Series at two games a piece with a five to nothing win over the Phillies. Alex Bregman had a two-run double.

And Albany High School has decided to forfeit this Friday’s game against Bogalusa over security concerns. There was a fatal shooting outside of Bogalusa’s stadium on homecoming night on October 15th.

Saturday night’s game between LSU and Alabama is now a Top Ten matchup as the first college football playoff rankings were unveiled last night and Alabama is ranked sixth while LSU is ranked tenth. The Tigers are the highest ranked two-loss team.

When the Bayou Bengals face the Crimson Tide, they will see a familiar face on defense. Bama cornerback Eli Ricks transferred to Tuscaloosa after two seasons in Tiger Town.
