LSU football coach Brian Kelly says the Tigers need a better week of preparation to defeat Mississippi State this Saturday in Baton Rouge. The Bulldogs are 2-0, with wins over Memphis and Arizona and State’s air raid offense is averaging 385 passing yards, fifth best in the nation. Kelly says his defensive players will need to execute their assignments…:

This will be Kelly’s first SEC game, but he doesn’t feel like he’s behind the other coaches in the league when it comes to familiarity.

LSU officials say they are working on issues that spawned the massive traffic backup before and after Saturday’s game versus Southern. They say it was difficult to prepare for two fan bases from the same city coming onto campus at one time to watch the historic matchup, but, while you can still expect traffic, things should be better moving forward.

There are plenty of corrections to be made following the Saints come from behind 27-26 win over the Atlanta Falcons. New Orleans Coach Dennis Allen is not happy that the Dirty Birds rushed for 201 yards. Allen says that’s not the Black and Gold standard…:

ESPN reports the New Orleans Pelicans signed Izaiah Brockington to a two way deal Monday. New Orleans’ training camp begins in two weeks and the Pels first preseason game is October 4th against the Bulls.

ULM picked up a 35-7 victory over Nicholls. Southeastern fell to Florida Atlantic 42-9. Louisiana Tech picked up the win against Stephen F Austin 52-17.
