After years of waiting, the NCAA finally placed LSU on three years probation for alleged recruiting violations involving the men’s basketball program and former head coach Will Wade. The football program is also on three years probation because of impressible benefits given to the family of former offensive lineman Vadal Alexander. Wade, who is preparing for his first season as the head coach at McNeese, has also been suspended 10 games and put on recruiting restrictions for the next two years. The NCAA says it took into account LSU’s self-imposed penalties including a postseason ban in football in 2020 when handing down this ruling.
