Louisiana nursing homeowner Bob Dean will avoid jail time, after pleading no contest to eight counts of cruelty to the infirm, five counts of Medicaid fraud, and two counts of obstruction of justice. Dean was charged after sending 843 nursing home patients to a warehouse in Tangipahoa Parish during Hurricane Ida. He was sentenced to three years’ probation and his 20-year-prison sentence was deferred.

President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the President’s race doesn’t change Republican Governor Jeff Landry’s mind on who will be the next president. Landry remains confident it will be GOP nominee Donald Trump. Landry told the Moon Griffon Show it doesn’t matter who the Democrats nominate…

An 18-year-old immigrant is behind bars after he allegedly drove impaired and smashed into another vehicle head-on killing two 18-year-olds inside that vehicle. The crashed occurred early Sunday morning in Lafourche Parish. Rylan Oncale of Raceland and Taliyah Crochet of Houma died as a result of injuries from the wreck. State Police Trooper Ross Brennan says 18-year-old Axel Flores-Cordova’s blood alcohol concentration was nearly seven times over the underage legal limit…

Brennan did not have information on if Flores-Cordova was in the United States legally. He’s from Honduras, but now in the Lafourche Parish detention center.

LSU cornerback Javien Toviano was arrested yesterday on charges of video voyeurism. East Baton Rouge Sheriff deputies accuse the 19-year-old of having sex with a woman and recording it without her consent with a hidden camera. The team has suspended Toviano indefinitely.

State Police says an 18-year-old driver from Honduras was driving impaired when his Jeep slammed head-on into a Kia, killing two 18-year-olds. Axel Flores-Cordova was arrested after it was revealed his B-A-C was nearly seven times over the underage legal limit.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office says defensive back Javien Toviano used a hidden camera to record a sexual encounter without the woman’s knowledge and the victim found the video on Toviano’s iPad. A federal grand jury has indicted New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s former bodyguard, Jeffrey Vappie, on seven counts of wire fraud and one count of false statement. The U-S Attorney’s office says Vappie lied to cover up a romantic relationship with Cantrell and political analyst Clancy Dubos says the indictment implicates the major who is described as “public official number one”….

The indictment says there were meals and alcohol shared between the two during at least 14 domestic and international travels, costing taxpayers more than 47-thousand dollars.

The victim initially reported the incident to school administrators in 2009, but an internal investigation yielded little action against Ralph Cheramie Junior. Prosecutor Jason Chatagnier says the victim came forward as an adult to report the abuse, which led to the conviction.
