Loggerhead sea turtle hatchlings have been found on Louisiana’s Chandeleur Islands for the third consecutive year. Sean Richardson has the story on the Chandeleur Island restoration project.

Near record high temperatures in south Louisiana today, but a cold front will hit the state on Tuesday and high temperatures on Wednesday in north Louisiana will be around 70, mid 70s for south Louisiana with lows in the 40s. The National Hurricane Center is watching an area of low pressure in the central Atlantic that has a medium chance of developing into a named storm later this week.

On a night when LSU was celebrating 100 years of Tiger Stadium, LSU won in overtime on Saturday night over Ole Miss….

ULM and the Ragin Cajuns also won on Saturday. Southeastern Louisiana improved to 2-and-0 in the Southland, but the Saints were outscored 27 to 0 in the second half and lost to Tampa Bay 51 to 27. New Orleans has lost four straight and will welcome Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos to the Dome on Thursday night.

For the third year in a row, loggerhead sea turtle hatchlings have been found on Louisiana’s Chandeleur Islands. Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority Project Manager Todd Baker says a total of 60 hatchlings emerged from two nests in 2024.

Baker says this discovery is part of a 300-million-dollar restoration project for the islands, which is expected to be completed by 2026.

The I-20 rehabilitation project in Bossier Parish continues to move forward. Three of the four closed ramps at the Old Minden Road interchange are scheduled to reopen today. DOTD spokesperson Erin Buchanan says in two weeks the project will transition into the initial stages of Phase 3 with a traffic shift for I-20 eastbound onto new paved lanes on the interstate….

Buchanan says the project is still on track to be completed late next year.

Louisiana crews have been redeployed to Florida after assisting in the Carolinas with Hurricane Helene. But GOHSEP Director Jacques Thibodeaux says Louisiana’s ongoing recovery from Hurricane Francine remains unaffected. With hurricane season continuing until November 30, Thibodeaux urges Gulf Coast residents to stay prepared for future storms and says volunteers are always needed.

A small Baton Rouge business is taking on a company co-founded by Tiger Woods in a trademark dispute. Sun Day Red is suing Tigeraire, which makes products designed to keep people cool in hot conditions, saying that its claims of trademark infringement are meritless. The Companies have similar logos. But Tigerair’s been using its logo since 2020 and Sun Day Red wasn’t launched until this February. That’s when Tigeraire CEO Jack Karavich says the confusion began.

A small business in Baton Rouge is involved in a trademark dispute with a company co-founded by Tiger Woods. Sun Day Red and Louisiana based Tigeraire are in court battle because their logos are very similar. Tigeraire CEO Jack Karavich says given the similarities between the two logos, people are now confusing his company for Tiger’s, as evidenced when some of his company’s representatives were at The Masters tournament this year, wearing Tigeraire-branded apparel.

Tigeraire, the small Baton Rouge business that made LSU’s airconditioned helmets is being sued by a company co-founded by Tiger Woods in a trademark dispute. Tigeraire filed an opposition notice with the US Patent and Trademark Office as both companies use similar logos. Sun Day Red says Tigeraire’s claims of trademark infringement are meritless. Tigeraire CEO Jack Karavich says Sun Day Red’s lawsuit grounds are meritless, and they are trying to bully him by filing its lawsuit in California.
