Another person was taken to a local hospital for treatment a fourth person escaped without being harmed.

Thibodaux Police say they arrested a man for allegedly stealing items from where he worked in exchange for drugs. After an internal investigation, the store contacted police. Police Department spokesman David Melancon (Ma-law-son) says the investigation found that 28-year-old Trevor Theriot stole baby formula and exchanged it for Norco pills. He also admitted to other thefts…

Theriot is charged with Organized Retail Theft, Possession of Heroin and Possession of Suboxone.

Louisiana is set to see the first severe weather event this spring. There is a greater risk in North Louisiana as a strong cold front moves south this weekend. This all comes on the heels of flooding rains that has left the Red and Ouachita rivers well above flood stage.  State Climatologist Barry Keim says severe storms can’t be ruled out…

Police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for killing cattle in Port Barre. 20-year-old Jameson Lagrange was arrested by the Louisiana Livestock Brand Commission on four counts of aggravated cruelty to animals after allegedly killing one cow and three calves.

After breaking records in rainfall last month, the Red, Mississippi and Ouachita Rivers in North and Central Louisiana are swollen and still above flood stage. It’s a short stay in St. Louis for the LSU men’s basketball team as they were bounced out of the SEC tournament by Mississippi State after one game. The Bulldogs held on for an 80-77 win over the Tigers. State built a 19 point lead as they hit a season high 10 three-pointers. But LSU got back into the game thanks to Tremont Waters 28 points and six assists. The loss drops LSU’s record to 17-14 and they’ll find out on Sunday night if that’s good enough to get in the NIT.

Louisiana Tech’s season is done after a 62-58 loss in the Conference USA Tournament. Temple topped Tulane 82-77 to end the Green Wave’s season. Sam Houston State eliminated UNO from the Southland Tournament 85-63.

Anthony Davis is listed doubtful for tonight’s game against Washington at the Smoothie King Center. A-D rolled his ankle in Wednesday’s win over Sacramento. The Pels go after their 11th straight win tonight. Tip off is at 7 PM.

LSU hosts Hawaii for a weekend series beginning tonight at Alex Box Stadium. It’s the final non-conference series for the Tigers, before they begin SEC play next weekend versus Missouri. Coach Paul Mainieri says his team needs to tighten up in the field, defense cost them the ball game versus UL Lafayette on Wednesday. He also is still massaging the mound.

Thibodaux police say a man who allegedly stole Similac formula from the store where he worked and used it to buy drugs. 28-year-old Trevor Theriot exchanged the formula for Norco pills and admitted to stealing chicken noodle soup and gum in the past to exchange for pills. Following his arrest, he was found in the possession of heroin. He is in custody on a 10-thousand-dollar bond…

The Louisiana Agriculture and Forestry Department is seeking information in finding persons responsible for the death of a cow and three calves. Commissioner Mike Strain says they were run over by a truck at a levee near Port Barre. The persons responsible for the cows’ deaths entered the property illegally where state owned cattle are present. Strain says vehicles should not be on the levee…

The Bonnet Carre Spillway in St. Charles Parish is in operation for the 12th time since the 1930s. Colonel Mike Clancy of the Corps New Orleans office says the public is allowed to watch how it operates, but there are some rules…
