State Police is investigating the death of a Slidell man whose vehicle was struck by a boat in St. James Parish on a roadway. He says somehow the trailer detached, crossed the center line and hit 49-year-old David Burvant’s vehicle…:

A 49-year-old Slidell man was killed when his vehicle was struck by a boat that detached from a pickup and trailer in St. James Parish. State Police say 20-year-old Jeremiah Allee of St. Amant was towing a boat while 49-year-old David Burvant was traveling in the opposite direction. As the two vehicles approached, the boat detached, crossed the center line and struck Burvant’s vehicle on the passenger side. Burvant was later pronounced dead.
