A cold front has crossed the state, bringing Louisiana its coldest weather of the season. State Climatologist Barry Keim says we can expect to see clouds and lingering rain through tomorrow. He says break out the sweaters and winter coats.

Keim says by Friday and over the weekend, we’ll see temperatures in the 30s in the morning with afternoon highs in the 50s. He says there’s also a chance for a light freeze across northern parishes.

He says they hope to take two full buses to New Orleans, but they come at a cost of five-thousand-dollars each.  Game ticket prices are beyond the reach of some residents and Dickens wants to show the team that the community is behind them by getting sponsors to help with travel expenses…

This is the first time since 1974 that the Rams have been involved in a state championship game.  He said last week, several fans got to go to the game.  He says actions like this help promote good will in the community…

The Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville is known for being haunted but it isn’t too often that visitors get to take a picture with a ghost. Tour Director Hester Eby says a group of women took a picture in the breezeway and it appears that Chloe wanted to photo bomb the selfie….

Eby says as revenge Chloe poisoned a cake that killed the owner’s wife and two children so she was hanged. She says every once in a while, Chloe is known to pop into a picture.

Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler says they are looking at replacing voting machines. Schedler says tampering with the current machines is remote, but a new system would further decrease chances of tampering.  He is awaiting approval from the state Division of Administration. If approved, the new touch screen system would provide better confirmation for voters…

Schedler says a new voting system would be valuable for voters who work or live away from the parish they are registered in, like college students.  Schedler explains how it would work in his case, since he is a registered voter in another parish, but living in Baton Rouge as Secretary of State…

There has been a lot of buzz over the Instagram post by LSU star running back Derrius Guice which says he will decide whether to enter the draft after the Citrus Bowl against Notre Dame. The junior is expected to be selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft if he leaves early. Tiger Rag Associate Editor James Moran says he would be shocked if Guice stayed another year..:

Guice said he was frustrated by a knee injury he dealt with throughout the season and said no player wants to be injured or play injured. He added he is finally 100%. Two Slidell Junior High School students are arrested after allegedly bringing a firearm to school.  Police received a crime stoppers tip that a 14-year-old boy brought the weapon while a 12-year-old boy showed the weapon to several students.  The younger boy also went as far as pointing it at another student and making threats on social media.  Both suspects are in custody at the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.

Denham Springs Police have arrested a man who allegedly tried to rob a woman at gunpoint during a sale of an XBOX video game.  The victim told police that she met Michael Mitchell at a bank parking lot, when Mitchell drew a gun.  The victim screamed and Mitchell fled from the scene in a car.  He was later found at a Baton Rouge restaurant where he was taken into custody.  The victim identified him in a police lineup.  He is in custody on a 100-thousand-dollar bond.

Cops believe Walker shot and killed his girlfriend on Essen Lane, then fled.  Moore says when Walker left the scene the first time, he soon returned and fired into a crowd of people and paramedics who were treating the mortally-wounded girlfriend, April Peck. Moore says one of the EMS workers recalled hearing the suspect yell numerous threats as he was firing shots at those assisting the injured female…:

State Police and the FBI seek the public’s help in the apprehension of suspects involved in two bank robberies in north Louisiana. Senior Trooper Michael Reichardt says the suspected man and woman should be considered armed and dangerous.  He says if you see something suspicious, report it to police or the FBI…

John Schroder will be sworn in tonight as Louisiana’s next state treasurer after being chosen by a record low number of voters in the November 18th runoff. John Kennedy stepped down from the position to become a U.S. Senator. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says Schroder will now to try to fill Kennedy’s role and must make sure he’s on top of his game.

Singer John Mayer has cancelled his New Orleans show with Dead and Company, a Grateful Dead revival band.  Tonight’s show was cancelled due after Mayer underwent an emergency appendectomy.  There is no word on when a concert will be rescheduled.  Ticket holders can either ask for a refund or use their tickets at the rescheduled show.

Health officials are concerned that Louisiana might have a severe flu season.  There are more cases of flu here and in Alabama than elsewhere in the country.  Louisiana Department of Health Doctor Frank Welch says there are more medical visits for the flu than there should be this early in the season…

Some officials warn this year’s flu vaccine may only be ten percent effective against the “A” strain of the virus.  Welch is concerned that this influenza will cause several problems the current vaccine does not immunize against…

Welch says it’s a good time to get the vaccine before the Christmas holidays since it takes a while for the immunization to take effect…

Health officials also say you can also protect yourself by washing your hands, covering your mouth when you cough and stay away from those who are sick.

State Police and the FBI seek the public’s help in the apprehension of suspects involved in two bank robberies in north Louisiana.  The Guaranty Bank in Epps was robbed November 10^th. Seventeen days later the Barksdale Federal Credit Union in Cotton Valley was held up. Senior Trooper Michael Reichardt says the suspected man and woman hid their identities, but believe both robberies are connected…

Both suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.  Reichardt says if you see something suspicious, report it to police or the FBI…

South Louisiana is still comfy in flip flops today, while north Louisiana is bundled up in coats and jackets. A cold front has brought breezy, cloudy and rainy conditions to the top half of the state today, and the pattern is headed to the coast by this evening. Forecasters say this cold front is dropping temperatures by as much as 25 degrees in a 24 hour period.
