Two men have lost their jobs with Livingston Parish Public Works after allegedly stealing guns from a home while they were supposed to be working. Livingston police Chief Randy Dufrene says 37-year-old Kelby Henderson and 24-year-old Adam Church knew the homeowner was a gun collector

Dufrene says they also used a parish vehicle to drive to the victim’s home and perform the break-ins.

An Arkansas man is under arrest after allegedly shooting his way into an empty West Monroe School and bunkering up in a bathroom in hopes of sparking a standoff with police. Jeffery Smith allegedly fired over a dozen shots in the school, but Sgt. CJ Beck says the police never came because the school’s burglar alarm never went off…

LSU President F King Alexander’s name has come up as a candidate to become a president at one of the two university systems in California. Alexander told the Los Angeles Times he’s leaving his options open. The 56-year-old Alexander has led LSU since 2013 after heading Cal State Long Beach for seven years.

 

Today is Giving Tuesday, a day bringing attention to charitable donations.  President and CEO of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank Mike Manning says they have seen an increase in contributions in honor of Giving Tuesday.

Senator Wesley Bishop pleads not guilty to accusations of making false statements to HUD by saying he was renting to tenants that didn’t exist.  Reports indicate Bishop received a $188,000 state loan in 2012 to fix up a New Orleans apartment building damaged in Katrina and rent it out at low rates for ten years.  Bishop faces up to five years in prison.

Holiday weight gain is an issue that many face as time with family and friends may mean more eating than normal.  The amount of weight can range widely, but usually, a couple of pounds is about average for most.

LSU School of Public Health nutritionist Dr. Henry Nuss says most folks know the season is full of high calorie foods, but what they aren’t factoring in is the calories from all those rum eggnogs…

New Orleans Police continue to search for those responsible for a mass shooting in the 700 block of Canal Street early Sunday morning. Crimestoppers President Darlene Cusanza says the reward has been bumped up from $5,000 to $10,000 for info leading to an arrest.

The shooting rampage occurred while the city was hosting the annual Bayou Classic football festivities, and the shooter is thought to live outside of New Orleans.

Joe Burrow walked out into Tiger Stadium Saturday with a special jersey spelling his name with a E-A-U-X, a moment watched by over eight million fans on twitter thanks to an LSU produced video.  Burrow says he wanted to do something to show his appreciation to LSU fans who have fully embraced him and his family…

Superintendent of Police Shaun Ferguson says they have multiple agencies investigating the incident, and they recovered a weapon on scene, but so far they have yet to find a suspect in the attack.

New Orleans Police continue to search for those responsible for a mass shooting in the 700 block of Canal Street early Sunday morning. Officials are not sure how many shooters were involved, but a weapon was taken from the scene. Superintendent of Police Shaun Ferguson says six officers and their supervisors were in the block at the time of the shooting.
