The Houma Police Department is the latest law enforcement agency in Louisiana that will use body cameras. Chief Todd Duplantis says the Terrebonne Parish Council has purchased 84 cameras that will be equipped to an officers’ uniform. He says it should be a great benefit to the department.

A Marrerro woman has been arrested on charges related to child trafficking for sexual purposes, and other serious sex crimes. Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell says the woman is 38 year-old Candice Caulfield, and with all of the charges against her, she faces a combined total of more than 200 years in prison.

This morning, New Orleans Saints Quartberback Drew Brees tweeted the announcement of the newest member of their household, as he and his wife Brittany welcomed a brand new baby girl. They have not announced the name as of yet, but they did say mom and daughter are doing great. He did a tweet a picture of the little girl and the proud papa. By the way, Drew Brees was at practice today.

A robbery suspect in Slidell was really left holding the bag. Slidell Police say 18-year-old Terry Jones approached a woman holding her infant. Jones allegedly stuck a pistol in the woman’s chest and demanded her purse. The purse turned out to be a diaper bag. Jones then took off running, but was caught by a police officer. Jones was booked on one count of armed robbery.

State Police say a seven-year-old girl from Clinton is hospitalized with moderate to serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle while getting off the school bus Monday afternoon. They say 67-year-old Hoyt Norwood of Baker was driving an SUV and failed to yield to the school bus in front of him and struck the child. Norwood was cited.

Bossier City Representative Jeff Thompson will leave the state legislature to become a judge in Bossier and Webster Parishes.
