An officer involved shooting in Iberville Parish has left a 36-year-old man dead. The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened in a rural area near Bayou Pigeon last night. As deputies were attempting to locate Shaun Wilson Ramo, who had been accused of raping a woman in the area, he aimed his rifle at the deputies, who then fired on the subject. Ramo was pronounced dead at the scene. State Police are investigating.

The Hammond Police Department says they are searching for two people accused of trying to sell a young girl at a gas station this morning. They say a 911 call came in with a woman saying she was at the Race Track and a man and woman were going around asking people if they wanted to buy the girl who appeared to be about 10 years old.
