DHH reports that two more people are being monitored for symptoms after returning from an Ebola infected area. That brings total number of people being monitored in the state to four.

Nonfarm jobs increased in seven of Louisiana’s eight metro areas over the year ending September 30th. Baton Rouge lead the way with 11,500 new jobs followed by New Orleans, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Shreveport/Bossier City, Houma, and Monroe.

A deputy with the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office has been arrested for allegedly using his badge to have sex with prostitutes. Baton Rouge Police Department Corporal L Jean McKneely says Deputy Florian Deutsch would inform the prostitutes he was a police officer and if they had sex with him, he would not arrest them. The West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office fired Deutsch when notified about the arrest. McKneely says Deutsch was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison…

An officer involved shooting in Iberville Parish has left a 36-year-old man dead. The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened in a rural area near Bayou Pigeon last night. As deputies were attempting to locate Shaun Wilson Ramo, who had been accused of raping a woman in the area, he aimed his rifle at the deputies, who then fired on the subject. Ramo was pronounced dead at the scene. State Police are investigating.

Five people have been arrested in Baton Rouge during a big drug bust Wednesday night involving high grade marijuana and other drugs. BRPD reported the BRAVE team made the bust at a motel, where investigators said they seized 12.4 pounds of “purple” marijuana worth thousands of dollars per pound.

In Lafayette, a man is dead after veering of the road on his motorcycle, striking a mailbox, and being thrown from his bike. Twenty-year-old Justin Rice of Lafayette died from his injuries, and that crash is still under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department.

The Hammond Police Department says they are searching for two people accused of trying to sell a young girl at a gas station this morning. They say a 911 call came in with a woman saying she was at the Race Track and a man and woman were going around asking people if they wanted to buy the girl who appeared to be about 10 years old. Cops are looking for a dark blue dodge van with license plate BSXR89.
