Over a million people voted yesterday, with two races finishing in a tie in West Carroll and St. Mary Parishes, and of course, the Senate race headed to the runoff.

 

One man who will not be headed to a runoff is 5th District Congressman Vance McAllister, who is saying he help to those who are in the runoff.

The so-called kissing Congressman finished 4th in yesterday’s primary. McAllister says he is at peace with the voters’ choices.

Half of the 2.9 million registered voters in Louisiana cast a ballot for the November 4th election. Secretary of State Tom Schedler says even though that was his prediction, he’d hoped to be wrong. He says despite the 50% turnout, he’s happy there were very few issues yesterday..:

He says they hope to have a good turnout and for things to run smoothly again for the runoff December 6th.

The former Governor accuses Graves of being frivolous with money when he worked under the Jindal administration and says he has some surprises up his sleeve. Graves says the past is the past and their campaign will focus on Louisiana’s future.

Fifth District Congressman Vance McAllister failed to make the runoff in his re-election bid. McAllister finished fourth in yesterday’s primary. He says when he decided to run for re-election, he was going to let the voters make their choice…:

McAllister admits his infamous “kissing scandal” added unnecessary drama to his campaign but now he’s going to back to makin some money.

Bayou Country Superfest announces the lineup for the 2015 shows. They say Kenny Chesney will headline Saturday night May 23rd and Maranda Lambert and husband Blake Shelton will be back to back to close out the shows on Sunday night May 24th. It was previously announced that Taylor Swift’s show in Tiger Stadium that Friday May 22nd was part of Bayou Country Superfest, but today promoters of the show are calling it a stand alone.

Also in a runoff in the 6th Congressional District and it’s Former Four term Governor Democrat Edwin Edwards and Garrett Graves. Analysts say there is typically a low voter turnout in runoffs so in order for democrats to have a shot, they’ll really need to hit the ground running and get out their vote.

Yesterday Senator Mary Landrieu got 42 percent of the vote and Congressman Bill Cassidy got 41 percent. So what does this mean for the runoff? Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says at just 42 percent, Landrieu is looking at an uphill battle…:

He says the best course of action for Cassidy at this point is to just lay low leading up to December 6th.

Mayo received 28-percent of the vote and Abraham 23-percent. Pollster Darrell Glascock says Mayo is seen as a heavy underdog, but anything is possible as turnouts for runoffs are traditionally low…

Anthony Davis lead all scorers with 24 points and 13 rebounds as the Pels improve to 2-2 on the season. The Pelicans have a few days off before traveling to meet the defending champion San Antonio Spurs Saturday night.

The Ragin Cajuns will take a four-game winning streak to New Mexico State where they’ll face the two and seven Aggies. U-L Lafayette Coach Mark Hudspeth says the play of the offensive line is one reason for its recent success…
