Governor Bobby Jindal announces Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc will construct a new production facility in St. Charles Parish and upgrade their plant in Ascension Parish. He says the plant expansions represent a capital investment pf $66 million and will retain 55 jobs in Geismar wile creating 13 new direct jobs. LED estimates the project will result in an estimated 74 new indirect jobs.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Tuesday that Shreveport’s Moonbot Studios is once again a semifinalist in the animated short film about books category for “The Numberlys” — a story about the alphabet. Authorities have made a second arrest in connection with a Port Allen homicide investigation. Port Allen Police say Ronald Nolan is charged with accessory charges in connection with the October 27th murder of Major Carter. 19-year-old Javonte Morgan was previously arrested on murder charges in this case. Police believe this shooting was drug related.

District 5 Louisiana Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell won for this third term on election night this week. Campbell plans to continue to fight for Louisiana’s coast and fight lawmakers who strike down lawsuits against the oil and gas industries who he feels is responsible for the damage…

In Louisiana’s 5th Congressional district, family physician Ralph Abraham will be in the runoff against Democrat Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo. Michelle Southern reports.

Louisiana Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell won for this third term on election night this week. The 67-year-old represents District 5 on the five-seat commission which regulates utility companies — which spans all of northern Louisiana and covers 24 parishes. Campbell is one of the last elected Democrats in the state but won across both parties:

State Police report an early morning single vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 4 in Franklin Parish has claimed the life of a mother and her 5 week-old child. Twenty-six year-old Jenna Johnson of West Monroe ran off the road, struck a ditch, and overturned he vehicle. Both mom and baby were ejected, as neither was properly restrained.
