A man who has admitted to selling LSU football equipment on ebay won’t tell police which player gave it to him. Campus Police spokesman Captain Cory Lalonds says they are still trying to determine if 25-year-old Fletcher Sanders actually got the items from a player…:

Today is the final day for you to sign up for health insurance through the federal heath exchange for policies to go into effect February 1st.
The US Department of Health and Human Services announce that as of January 9th, 126,454 people have signed up for Obamacare in Louisiana. There is also a February 15th deadline which is the end of open enrollment. You can sign up online at healthcare.gov.

The head of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association is not expecting another oil bust like we saw in the 1980s even though the price of oil has fallen over 50-dollars in the last six months. Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents have cited three men on several fishing violations in Terrebonne Parish after bragging to an off-duty agent about their illegal activity. And of course with oil prices low, the price at the pump is also dropping for consumers. The American Automobile Association says the average at the pump for regular right now is $1.93 and this time last year it was $3.13.

The Washington Parish Sheriff’s office says a former speech therapist from Franklinton High School is under arrest for allegedly having sex with at least 2 students under the age of 17. Chief Deputy Mike Haley says after the complaint came in, they were able to gather enough evidence to arrest 40-year-old Kimberly Cooke…:

Haley says the suspect is booked with indecent behavior with juveniles.

The Secretary of State’s Office says they are facing a proposed $3.8 million dollars in mid-year budget cuts which would force them to implement an agency-wide employee furlough as soon as next week. Tom Scheduler says this level of reduction is daunting.

The price of oil has fallen over 50 dollars in the last six months, but the head of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association is not anticipating another oil bust the way we saw in the 1980s. Louisiana State Police say an 18-year-old driver was killed this morning in a fatal East Feliciana Parish crash just before 8 this morning in Jackson. They say Mekala Brooks of Baker crossed a center line and was hit on the drivers side by a pickup truck. Brooks wasn’t buckled up and suffered fatal injuries when she was ejected.

A Baton Rouge shoe store employee is being uncooperative with LSU Police in regards to the sale of game-worn LSU football equipment on eBay. Capt. Cory Lalonde says they determined that 25-year-old Fletcher Sanders was the seller of the cleats and gloves advertised on the website. Lalonde says Sanders told investigators that he was the seller and sold the items for an LSU football player…:

Former “Sons of Guns” reality TV star Will Hayden is scheduled to be arraigned on rape charges in Livingston Parish today. This rape charge stems from a March 2013 incident involving a girl who was 11-years-old at the time. Hayden also faces indecency with a juvenile charges from an incident that happened with another girl in 1995. Hayden is expected to plea not guilty. He pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggrivated rape in East Baton Rouge Parish last week.

The US Department of Health and Human Services reports over 126,000 Louisianians have signed up for health insurance, so far, through the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. Former Haughton high star and Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott has announced that he will return for his senior season. Prescott finished eighth in the Heisman balloting this past season, throwing for 3,449 yards and 27 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. LSU begins conference play in Starkville against Prescott and the Bulldogs on September 12th.

The Pelicans jumped back in the win column last night as they picked up a road win over Detroit 105-94. Anthony Davis lead all scorers with 27 and also grabbed 10 rebounds. Tyreke Evans threw in 18 and Ryan Anderson added 17 as the Pels climb back to .500 on the season at 19-19. The Pelicans road trip continues as they take on the Philadelphia 76ers Friday night.

In college basketball, LSU scored an SEC road win last night as they defeated Ole Miss 75-71. Keith Hornsby scored 23, including 5 three pointers, as the Tigers mark their second straight conference win. Jarell Martin added 18 and Jordan Mickey scored 11 as LSU improves to 2-1 in league play. The Bayou Bengals host Texas A&M this Saturday morning.

It took an extra 15 minutes before the University of Central Florida outlasted Tulane 103-100 in triple overtime. The loss drops the Green Wave to 3-2 in American conference play. Tulane was lead by Louis Dabney’s 26 points followed by Jay Hook’s 25. The Green Wave road trip continues as they take on Houston Saturday.
