An assistant football coach at Terrebonne High School is facing two-counts of molestation of a juvenile female. Deputies say 24-year-old Bobby Sewire of Gray admitted involement with the juvenile victim that took place at locations within Terrebonne. There’s a positive development in the fight against Alzheimer’s. A Japenese drug maunfacturer says it’s experimental drug reduced cognitive and functional decline by 27-percent in patients with early-stage Alzheimer’s. Doctor Jeffrey Keller at LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center says based on the trial’s data, the drug’s side effects include brain swelling and bleeding, but the patients were rarely symptomatic…

The U-S Supreme Court hears oral arguments today over Alabama’s congressional district map. Alabama has seven congressional districts and 27-percent of its population is black and the ACLU argues Alabama should have two majority-minority districts. This case is similar to the legal challenges against Louisiana’s Congressional district map.

Low water levels are limiting the amount of grain that can be shipped via barges on the Mississippi River. Louisiana Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain says 99% of the water in the Mississippi River comes from northern states and after little to no rain its hindering agriculture shipments.

Mandeville Republican Representative Richard Nelson went before the Baton Rouge Press Club to discuss his proposal to eliminate the state’s income tax, which brings in over four-billion dollars in tax revenues to the state. Nelson says lowering the homestead exemption on property taxes, which he says chokes local governments of operating funds…

State Police reports 16-year-old Robert Lewis of Natchitoches died yesterday in a Utility Terrain Vehicle crash. Authorities say a 14-year-old was operating the U-T-V and Lewis was a passenger when the driver lost control and it overturned. Lewis was ejected and died at a local hospital from his injuries. The juvenile driver sustained minor injuries.

Louisiana legend Terry Bradshaw told Fox NFL Sunday viewers that he’s battled two different bouts of cancer over the last year. The 74-year-old Shreveport native says the first diagnosis came about eleven months ago…

Bradshaw also says he had surgery earlier this year to remove a rare form of skin cancer from his neck. Bradshaw discussed his health issues after he struggled to breathe during a segment on the popular pre-game show on September 27th.

Governor Edwards has set a goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. UNO research and technology foundation president Rebecca Conwell hopes the research at the New Energy Center will significantly contribute to that effort…

Shreveport native and former Louisiana Tech star Terry Bradshaw revealed during the Fox’s NFL pregame show that he’s battled cancer twice in the last year. Bradshaw says he was diagnosed with bladder cancer last November, but says he’s now bladder cancer free. And earlier this year the 74-year-old had skin cancer removed from his neck.

The state department of education will hold an 11 AM press conference today to encouarge school systems to embrace the Say It Here Mobile App, which can help stop acts of school violence before it happens…
