23-year-old Shreveport Police Officer Alexander Tyler has been put on administrative leave. Two officers were called to an apartment complex on Friday night to investigate a domestic disturbance. LSP says when the officers arrived Bagley took off running.

The St. Tammany Parish coroner is urging Louisiana residents to have a bottle of Narcan on hand. Doctor Charles Preston says Narcan can help save a person’s life who overdoses on Fentanyl…

He says Narcan is a nasal spray and the manufacturer has videos on their website that explain how to recognize an overdose and how to administer the medication.

An East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputy, who saved a car crash victim’s life last month, is Senator Bill Cassidy’s guest at tonight’s State of the Union address. Detective Will Bankston was off duty and driving through Baton Rouge, when he came across a car crash and pulled a man from his badly damaged vehicle that was in the water. Bankston says this is his first visit to DC.

The Saints are expected to announce Joe Woods as the team’s new defensive coordinator today. Head Coach Dennis Allen is familiar with Woods. The two worked together for part of a season when Allen was the head coach of the Raiders in 2014. Woods has been an NFL coach for 19 seasons, five as a defensive coordinator. The last three seasons he was the D-C in Cleveland.

Former Saints Coach Sean Payton is expected to change the culture in Denver like he did in New Orleans. Last season, Denver allowed quarterback Russell Wilson to have his own personal coach in the building. Payton says that will not happen under his watch…

Payton is reportedly hiring Saints assistant offensive line coach Zach Streif to be his O-Line coach in Denver. Streif was on the Saints Super Bowl team and played 12 seasons in New Orleans under Payton.

It looks like former LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire will have a chance to play in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs have activated Edwards-Helaire from injured reserve. He hasn’t played since November 20th when he suffered a high ankle sprain. Edwards-Helaire has six touchdowns on the season.

Monroe Police are searching for 18-year-old Isszvian Webb who police chief Vic Zordan says fired an AR-15 style rifle at multiple officers after he was pulled over during a taffic stop on Sunday afternoon South Eighth street. Zordan calls Webb a danger to society.

Louisiana’s speckled trout population is down to its lowest-ever recorded level, but recreational anglers and state lawmakers oppose efforts to limit catches. LDWF Assistant Secretary of Fisheries Patrick Banks says based on their assessments there are only two million pounds worth of female specks in the spawning stock, traditionally that number is six-million

But the Senate and House Natural Resources Committee rejected a proposal to limit the daily catch limit from 25 to 15 and increase the size limit to 13.5 inches.

With the continued rise of overdose deaths linked to Fentanyl, one coroner is urging those with addiction issues to seek help and for more individuals to have Narcan readily available should it be needed to reverse an overdose. St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Charles Preston says first we must recognize that substance abuse is a medical disease.

Preston says Narcan is the antidote for most opiates and the main reason a person dies is that the opiate either puts them to sleep, suppresses their breathing, or stops their heart.

Payton is reportedly hiring Zach Streif to be his offensive line coach. Streif spent the last two seasons as the assistant o-line coach of the Saints after 12 seasons as a player in New Orleans. Expect Payton to hire others who are connected with the Saints.

The LSU women’s basketball team remains at number three in the latest A-P Top 25 poll. The Lady Tigers just got past Texas A-and-M 72-66 yesterday as Angel Reese had 26 points and 22 rebounds. LSU is at top ranked South Carolina on Sunday.

The Ragin Cajuns men’s basketball team is on a ten-game winning streak and will visit Southern Miss on Thursday. Both teams are 10-and-2 in the Sun Belt.

In a 24-hour period over the weekend, three men in their 30s died from suspected drug overdoses in St. Tammany Parish. Coroner Dr. Charles Preston says while toxicology results will take a few weeks, investigators were able to field test one of the victim’s medication and it was positive for Fentanyl.

The victims were a 39-year-old man in Bush, a 34-year-old man in Pearl River and a 37-year-old man in Slidell.

Will Bankston, an EBRSO Detective, was off duty and driving through Baton Rouge, when he saw the remains of half of a car on a bridge. He stopped and saw the front half over the side – in the water below – with the driver still inside…:

That happened January 22nd and the man he saved is on the way to recovery. Bankston doesn’t consider himself a hero, because what he did is all within his law enforcement / first responder training. He says He was contacted a few days ago by Senator Cassidy’s office…:

The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased male as 43-year-old Alonzo Bagley. Shreveport City Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor says the incident occurred in her district

LSU–Alexandria announces record enrollment for the spring semester. Director of Admissions Joshua Perrodin says they have 3992 students enrolled this semester, which is the biggest spring class in LSUA history…:

The Caddo Parish Coroner has identified the man who was fatally shot Friday night during an incident with Shreveport Police officers. State Police is investigating and not much information has been been provided on what happened before officers shot 43-year-old Alonzo Bagley.
