House Governmental Affairs has approved the legislation calling Louisiana to convene a constitutional convention on May 20th. Governor Landry wants 171 delegates to streamline the current constitution. Former state representative Neil Abramson says that can be accomplished by moving items out of the constitution and into state law

Federal officials are offering a 20-thousand dollar reward for information that leads to the criminal conviction of the person who fatally shot a bottlenose dolphin multiple times. Matt Walia with NOAA’s Fisheries Office of Compliance says the dead dolphin was found on West Mae Beach in Cameron Parish on March 13th…

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who fatally shot a dolphin in the Gulf of Mexico. Brooke Thorington has more.

The Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office says a West Monroe man has admitted to the brutal murder of 19-year-old Sheryl Turner of New Iberia. Her dismembered body was found in the Ouachita River in Catahoula Parish in January. Detectives says Anthony Holland killed Turner during a sexual act and then used a large kitchen knife to cut up her body.

The Pelicans fell behind by double digits in the first quarter last night and never really challenged Oklahoma City and lost to the Thunder 124 to 92. O-K-C shot 59-percent from the field, while the Pels were just 7-of-26 from three point territory. New Orleans is down two games to none and game three is in the Big Easy on Saturday.

The LSU Lady Tigers have signed three guards out of the transfer portal. Shayeann Day-Wilson from Miami, who is a former ACC Freshman of the Year, Kailyn Gilbert from Arizona, who averaged 15 points a game last season and Mjarcle Sheppard, who averaged five points a game at Mississippi State as a freshman.

The 17th ranked Cajuns baseball team fell behind nine to one and lost to Houston Christian ten to nine last night. Louisiana Tech improved to 30-13 after outscoring Nicholls ten to seven. Michael Ballard, Kasten Furr and Dalton Davis all homered for the Cajuns. S-L-U defeated Alcorn nine to one.

Authorities are seeking the public’s help and offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the death of a dolphin found washed up on a Cameron Parish beach riddled with bullet holes. Matt Walia with NOAA’s Fisheries Office of Compliance says they received a report of a deceased bottlenose dolphin on March 13th.

A new Morning Consult report finds Republican John Kennedy among the top ten most popular U-S Senators. The survey found that 55-percent of Louisiana voters approve of Kennedy’s job performance. That’s the tenth highest percentage. LSU Political Science Professor Robert Hogan says a majority of Louisiana voters agree with Kennedy’s politics…

The search continues for the person who fatally shot a driver of an 18-wheeler in what authorities in Caddo Parish describe as a road rage incident. Sergeant Casey Jones with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s office says the shooting happened Tuesday morning on I-20 in Greenwood…

The LSU baseball team began a nine-game homestand last night by blanking Nicholls nine to nothing. Tommy White hit two home runs. Coach Jay Johnson says beating a Nicholls team with 27 wins should help improve their R-P-I as they try to build an NCAA Tournament resume.

Little Rock doubled up ULM four to two, Northwestern routed Grambling 16 to 8. The Demons scored eight runs in the fourth as Balin Valentine drove in five runs. S-L-U thumped Alcorn 15-to-3. McNeese rallied to beat Louisiana Christian six to four. The Cajuns host Houston Christian tonight.

In softball…25th ranked U-L Lafayette defeated sixth-ranked LSU nine to four. The Cajuns scored six times in the first inning. Alexa Langeliers and Brooke Ellestad homered for U-L Lafayette.

Game two of their Western Conference playoff series is tonight as the Pelicans face Oklahoma City down one game to one.
