How about Southeastern Louisiana this past weekend. The Lions forced nine turnovers in their 28-17 win over Florida Tech. Linebacker Demareyeh Lane had two interceptions and returned one 58 yards for a touchdown. He was named today as the Southland Defensive Player of the Week.

More bad injury news for the Saints. The NFL Network reports safety Rafael Bush tore his pectoral muscle in yesterday’s loss to the Cardinals. If that’s the case, Bush will likely miss the rest of the season. New Orleans has reportedly signed veteran free agent safety Kenny Phillips. The former first round draft pick has eight career interceptions, but hasn’t played in the NFL since 2012. He was with the Saints during training camp, but was part of the final cuts made by the team.

Cowboy fans are happy about last night’s come from behind win to beat the Giants. But wide receiver Dez Bryant suffered a broken bone in his foot and could miss the next four to six weeks. The Saints are set to host Dallas on October fourth.

LSU has announced they arrested a 21-year-old man from Cut Off for allegedly climbing a security fence and entering a secure area behind Mike the Sixth’s habitat on the LSU campus. It happened around the start of the McNeese State game, but Mike was in Tiger Stadium. Trent Paul Boudreaux was cited, but not booked in jail.
