LSU will play the rest of the season without wide receiver Travin Dural as he’s out for the year with a torn hamstring. Miles says it will take three months for him to recover.

The Saints have returned to practice as they get ready for the stretch run of their season, which gets underway Sunday against Houston. Linebackers Hau’oli Kikaha and Ramon Humber have returned to practice on a limited basis. Running back Mark Ingram was also limited with a shoulder injury, while lienbackers David Hawthorne and Dannell Ellerbe and cornerbacks Keenan Lewis and Damian Swann all missed practiced.

And former LSU Tiger Matt Flynn, who is now a backup quarterback with the Saints, told reporters that it would be a mistake if LSU let Les Miles go.

The LSU men’s basketball team is back from a disappointing trip to Brooklyn, where they lost two games, one to Marquette and last night in overtime to North Carolina State. The Tigers are at Charleston on Monday.

Louisiana Tech is off to its best start since 1998 after beating Ohio State 82-74 on Tuesday. Alex Hamilton led the way with 24 points. Tech is back in action Friday against North Carolina Central.

Tonight in the NBA…the Pelicans begin a three-game road trip in Phoenix.

Former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwars is in the hospital with a case of pneumonia. But his wife, Trina, says he’s feeling much better since they checked him in and they hope to be home in time for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Edwards is 88-years-old and his last public appearance was Saturday as he was with Governor-elect John Bel Edwards on election night.

The 14 strip clubs were cited for drug activity, prostitution and lewd acts. Commissioner Troy Hebert says drug and prostitution activity at these establishments breeds other criminal activity…

Morgan City Police say fake money used in movies is making its way across multiple parishes in southeast Louisiana. Sgt. He says at this time, they’ve arrested Vanisha August of Morgan City on one count of monetary instrument abuse…

LSU Coach Les Miles said on today’s SEC teleconference that he will not look to defend or a make a case for himself as speculation continues to grow that he will be fired sometime after the Tigers play their final regular season game on Saturday against A-and-M. LSU wide receiver Malachi Dupre says the rumors swirling about Miles’ future with the program has not been a distraction. But he says better play on the field would help in the argument to keep Miles employed at LSU…

Miles has confirmed that junior wide receiver Travin Dural is done for the season after tearing his hamstring while trying to catch a touchdown pass against Ole Miss. Recovery time is three months. Dural is eligible to enter the NFL draft.

Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss face off on Saturday in Ruston and the winner will advance to the Conference USA Championship game. Southern Miss leads Conference USA in total defense and they are second in scoring defense, allowing 22 points a contest. State judge William Bennett has allowed one of two marshals involved in a November 3rd fatal shooting of a six-year-old boy in Marksville to post bond. Norris Greenhouse Junior was having trouble getting released from jail, because state law bans lawyers from posting bond. Greenhouse’s father is an attorney, but Judge Bennett said that law doesn’t apply to this case.

Blue Bell ice cream lovers have an additional reason to celebrate this holiday season. The creamery announces its coming back to the Pelican State on December 21st. Blue Bell pulled its ice cream from the shelves in April over listeria concerns. The popular ice cream has been coming back in phases over the last few months. Spokesperson Joe Robertson says most of their retail partners have welcomed them back and they’ll be in most major grocery stores. He says currently, they’re only selling five flavors of ice cream.

ULM President Nick Bruno announces they’vehired College Sports Solutions, which is based out of Atlanta, to help them search for a new football coach. Bruno has also appointed eight members to a search committee, five of whom once played for ULM, including former team captains, Van Lambert and Pat Mitchell. Current nose guard Gerrand Johnson was also selected to the search committee. ULM is looking for a replacement for the fired Todd Berry.

McNeese State’s Matt Viator has been named the Southland Conference Coach of the Year. Viator has guided the Cowboys to a perfect 10-0 overall record, 9-0 in the league. McNeese is a number four national seed in the FCS playoffs. The Cowboys Wallace Scott is the league’s defensive player of the year. Scott leads a McNeese defense that’s allowing just eleven points a game.

Three Louisiana Tech football players have been named to the Reese Senior Bowl….Vernon Butler, Kenneth Dixon and Jeff Driskel. It’s only the second time in school history that the school has had three players selected for the Senior Bowl in a single year. The Bulldogs final regular season game is this Saturday as they host Southern Miss for the Conference USA western division crown.

The Pelicans begin a three-game road trip tomorrow night in Phoenix and there’s a chance swingman Tyreke Evans could see his first action of the season. Evans has been recovering from a knee injury and was expected to miss six to eight weeks. But if Evans returns tomorrow that would mark a five-week recovery. New Orleans is looking for its third straight win tomorrow night.

A judge is allowing the family of Norris Greenhouse Junior to post bond, which paves the way for his release from jail. Greenhouse is one of two officers accused in the shooting death of a six-year-old autistic boy in Marksville. A Louisiana law that prohibits lawyers from posting bond kept Greenhouse in jail. His father is a prosecutor, but Judge William Bennett ruled that the law doesn’t apply in this case.

Several members of the national media say its crazy that LSU would fire Coach Les Miles, despite five straight losses to Alabama and a current three-game losing streak. Athletic Director Joe Alleva has declined to comment on the record about rumors of Miles dismissal at the end of the year. Dennis Dodd of cbs-sports-dot-com says Alleva is mishandling the situation….
