Authorities say a Baton Rouge college student brutally murdered and dimembered his parents in Tennessee during the Thanksgiving Day weekend. Knox County Sheriff Major Michael MaClean says they believe 29-year-old Joel Michael Guy Junior turned violent during an argument about money….

A Bossier Parish foster parent has been arrested on three counts of first-degree rape. Lt. Bill Davis, with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s office, says 51-year-old Terral Parfait’s victims were young children under his foster care and there could be more victims and encourage others who may know something to come forward…

The Feral Hog Management Task Force meets today to discuss ways to control the wild hog population in Louisiana. Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Veterinarian Dr. Jim LaCour says it’s a big problem in the state.

The taskforce was created during the 2016 regular legislative session and is comprised of 11 members from different departments.  LaCour says current methods to control feral hogs are just not working. He says the goal of the taskforce is to discuss best methods of control.

The LSU Ag Center estimates there are over half a million, or as many as 700-thousand feral hogs in the state. LaCour says the legislature has dedicated 360-thousand dollars towards the problem…

Today is the last day of the 2016 Atlantic Hurricane Season which was the first one considered “above-normal” for the first time since 2012. This year, there were 15 named storms, including 7 hurricanes – 3 of which were major. NOAA’s lead hurricane forecaster, Gerry Bell, says there were several factors which lead to the active season…:

Five named storms made landfall in the US during 2016, the most since 2008 when 6 storms hit. Hermine was the first hurricane to make landfall in Florida since Wilma in 2005. Bell says the reason the Gulf was spared for the most part this year is because the storms formed over the tropical Atlantic which tend not to track this way…:

Democratic US Senate candidate Foster Campbell says he’s raised $2.5 million in campaign funds in the last month, but will dollars be enough to secure a victory? Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says while Campbell has raised a decent amount of money, the Democrat’s biggest hurdle is trying to win a statewide election in a red state.

Campbell has made it clear that a majority of his campaign donations have come from individuals, not political action committees. But Pinsonat says voters don’t care about the money, they vote based on candidate’s platforms.

Pinsonat expects Campbell will use the nearly $1.5 million he has on hand to hit the airwaves hard in the last few days before the runoff. He says Campbell will likely run ads that depict Kennedy as the candidate for elitists and big corporations, but it’s unlikely it will be enough for a win.

A Bossier Parish Air Force veteran is behind bars, accused of raping and sexually exploiting young boys in his foster care. Lt. Bill Davis with Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office says 51-year-old Terral Parfait was arrested after one of his victims came forward.

Davis says Parfait lives alone and has been a foster parent for quite some time. He says so far, Parfait has been charged with three counts of 1st degree rape.

Davis says hundreds of floppy disks, flash drives, VHS, and DVDs were also seized from the suspect’s home where they found images of known child pornography produced of the boys that were in his care. It’s been reported Saints receiver Brandin Cooks is frustrated with his role in the offense. Cooks didn’t catch a pass last week in the win over the Los Angeles Rams. Coach Sean Payton was asked about it today and says he’s not concerned. Payton says they’ll keep working and finding opportunities for Cooks to catch passes.

During the Saints 49-21 win over the Rams the theme song from the “Lion King” was played after New Orleans successful trick play that saw Willie Snead throw a touchdown pass to Tim Hightower. Payton also referenced the “Circle of Life” song in a postgame tweet. Offensive Tackle Zach Strief is not saying why this song is so important to the team…

This Sunday, the Saints host the Detroit Lions.

LSU has reportedly offered a scholarship to Alabama commitment Tua Tagovailoa, who is a five-star quarterback from Alabama. LSU has two committed quarterbacks in their 2016 recruiting class. Lowell Narcisse from St. James, who was visited by Head Coach Ed Orgeron and running backs coach Jabbar Juluke. And there’s also Miles Brennan from Mississippi, who recently picked up an offer from Oklahoma State.

The LSU men’s basketball team won easily 84-65 over the Houston Cougars last night. It was Houston’s first loss of the season. Antonio Blakeney had a game high 23 points and the Tigers shot 44-percent from three-point range. Also last night, UNO beat Tulane 74-59 and Texas State topped McNeese State 80-68. Tonight, Louisiana Tech is at California.

Anthony Davis had 41 points and 16 rebounds as the Pelicans drained the Lakers 105-88. New Orleans is now 5-2 since Jrue Holiday returned.

Fox Sports Bruce Feldman is reporting that LSU will make defensive coordinator Dave Aranda the highest paid assistant coach in the country. Several media outlets reported yesterday that Aranda agreed to a new three-year contract. The Tigers finished the regular season seventh in scoring defense.

So what bowl game will LSU end up at? They’ll find out Sunday and the SEC will help determine their destination. Jerry Palm of CBS sports dot com believes the Tigers will end up at one of the bowls in Florida and they are an attractive choice for the bowls, because many fans are excited about the hiring of Ed Orgeron as head coach…

ESPN’s Mike Triplett reports that Saints receiver Brandin Cooks is becoming frustrated with his role in the offense. Cooks did not catch a pass against the Rams last Sunday as he was used to pull coverage away from fellow receivers. Cooks is still on pact to have over one-thousand receiving yards this season.

UL Lafayette receiver Gabe Fuselier has left the Cajuns football program with just one game left in the regular season. Fuselier has caught just eight passes this year after hauling in 37 passes last year. UL Lafayette is at ULM this Saturday. The Warhawks haven’t beaten in their in-state rival since 2013 and have lost seven of their last eight.

In college basketball tonight. The 4-and-2 LSU Tigers host a 5-and-0 Houston Cougars team. Tip-off is at 8 PM.

Law enforcement agencies in Baton Rouge have settled a civil rights lawsuit filed by advocacy groups that alleged police used excessive force and psychical abuse during Alton Sterling protests. Louisiana ACLU Executive Director Marjorie Esman says this agreement assures that citizens rights are respected moving forward…:

The suit said that during protests people were wrongfully arrested when they were gathered peacefully to speak out against the killing of Sterling during a confrontation with officers.

Severe weather is moving through northeast Louisiana and we’re seeing warm temperatures throughout the state. But state climatogist Barry Keim says a cold front moving through the state tonight will drop our temperatures for the rest of the week…

A tornado watch has been issued for central and northeast Louisiana until nine o’ clock tonight. At around two o’ clock this afternoon, the National Weather Service says a thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located in LaSalle Parish and moving northeast at 40 miles per hour. There’s also a severe thunderstorm warning for Caldwell Parish.

The regular season is over and it’s hard to determine where the LSU Tigers will play in a bowl game. That’s because eight teams in the SEC have either seven or eight wins. Jerry Palm updates his bowl projections every week on CBS-Sports-dot-com and he says Alabama is headed to the college football playoff and the Sugar Bowl will take the highest ranked SEC team in the C-F-P, which he says will either be Auburn or Florida. He says his best guest for LSU is either the Outback Bowl in Tampa or the Taxslayer Bowl in Jacksonville….

Based on various media reports, LSU and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda have agreed to a contract extension and a pay raise. Aranda made one-point-two million dollars this past season.

There are three college football games involving Louisiana teams this Saturday. Tech faces Western Kentucky in the Conference USA Championship game in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Hilltoppers are 9-3 overall and their one loss in conference play was to the Bulldogs.

Governor Edwards is hopeful that the death of former Cuban President Fidel Castro will result in better trade relations between the island nation and America. Edwards says Louisiana’s rice industry would benefit if that’s the case and the governor says he’s willing to work on reducing those trade barriers…

President-elect Donald Trump recently tweeted that if Cuba is unwilling to make a better deal for the Cuban people and Cuban-Americans, than he’ll terminate any deals between the two countries.

A Baton Rouge judge hears arguments this morning over whether the governor’s executive order that provides protections for LGBT individuals against job discrimination within state government is an executive overreach. Edwards issued the order in April. Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry says it’s unconstitutional.

Louisiana has the best best anti-trafficking laws in the country according to a study by the nonprofit organization Shared Hope International. Franklinton Senator Beth Mizell says that’s great news, but Louisiana also needs to do more to help victims and make sure they are not pushed into the criminal justice system….
