Shreveport Representative Thomas Pressly and Mandeville Representative Richard Nelson plan to propose legislation next year. Nelson says repealing personal and corporate income taxes would boost the state’s economy

A report from the 2021 Gulf Coast Energy Outlook predicts oil production will decline over the next three years. David Dismukes, Executive Director at LSU Center for Energy Studies co-authored the report and says the outlook for the industry changed with the pandemic.

Dismukes says futures markets predict oil will continue to trade in the 40 to 50-dollar range a barrel for the next decade.

Over the past two days, the state has reported over 45-hundred new coronavirus cases. This is why Governor John Bel Edwards is asking Louisiana residents to not have large family gatherings for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
Currently, the state is in Phase 3 coronavirus restrictions, which allow for restaurants, salons, retail stores, and churches to operate at 75-percent capacity. Crowd sizes are limited to a maximum of 25 people. But governor Edwards says tighter restrictions are possible if the state is not showing signs of slowing the spread.

Saints Quarterback Drew Brees will miss time while recovering from his injuries and the team has yet to name a starting quarterback to replace him. Coach Sean Payton says whichever player is under center for the black and gold, the team will play to their strengths.

Smoking is also a factor that exacerbates several preexisting conditions like high blood pressure and heart disease which are health conditions that make it difficult to battle COVID, so there’s no better time to quit than now.

This Saturday’s Ragin Cajuns football game versus Central Arkansas in Lafayette has been canceled due to COVID-19 positive tests and contact tracing within the program. A total of 33 players are in quarantine. Athletics Director Bryan Maggard says what’s happened to the football program is indicative of what’s happening in our society

The status of the LSU-Arkansas game has been up in the air due to a small Covid-19 outbreak within the Razorbacks program, which included head coach Sam Pittman.  Pittman says his team might be a little short-handed on Saturday, but they should be good to go.

On the other hand, LSU will get a lot of players back from quarantine, including quarterback Max Johnson.  Ed Orgeron hasn’t yet named a starter, but says TJ Finley might get the nod since he practiced last week…

Former Governor Edwin Edwards is back in the hospital today. His biographer, Leo Honeycutt, says the 93-year-old has been diagnosed with double pneumonia and is expected to remain in the hospital for the next few days. He was in the hospital over the weekend as well but released after he was treated for a head cold.

Former Governor Edwin Edwards has been admitted to the hospital again this time with double pneumonia, according to his wife Trina’s Facebook post. 93-year old Edwards spent the weekend in the hospital and was discharged Sunday after he experienced breathing difficulties. He tested negative for COVID and pneumonia over the weekend.

The FDA approves emergency use for the first self-test for COVID-19 that provides results in 30 minutes. Assistant for Translational Research at LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine Dr. Lucio Miele says while the at-home test is another tool in the fight against the coronavirus it’s not the end all be all because it only detects one gene in the virus

Pfizer says it is days away from formally asking the Food and Drug Administration to allow emergency use of the vaccine. Senator Bill Cassidy expects vaccines could be administered to people in late December or early January. He says each state has submitted a plan for distribution
