As we honor veterans today, the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs says COVID has presented challenges to several observations in 2020. Veterans Secretary Colonel Joey Strickland says ceremonies that are normally held at VA homes are closed to the public this year.

Strickland says several schools are holding ceremonies across the state to honor vets and in Bossier City today a Women’s Veterans statue is being dedicated.

Governor John Bel Edwards announced a more than $3-million agreement with LSU-Shreveport and LED to advance students’ careers in technology at the Cyber Collaboratory. The LSUS technology agreement is the latest in a series of milestones along the I-20 Cyber Corridor. Edwards says when he visits the Nation’s Capital, leaders are impressed.

A COVID outbreak on the LSU football team has led to the postponement and possible cancellation of this weekend’s contest in Tiger Stadium against Alabama. Matt Doyle has the story.

58-year old Gregory Alan Smith a Shreveport investment adviser was sentenced Tuesday to six years in prison for his part in a $3.5 million fraud in which customers invested money with Texas megachurch minister, Kirbyjon Caldwell who had counseled two presidents. Caldwell advised former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Smith and Caldwell were ordered to pay nearly $3.6 million in restitution and a $100,000 fine.
