Extreme southeast Louisiana is in the cone of uncertainty for Tropical Storm Eta which is meandering off the coast of western Cuba, State Climatologist Barry Keim

Keim says Eta will drift north over the week and the National Hurricane Center forecast has the storm making landfall in the Florida panhandle this weekend as a depression.

Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul is confident they’ll find out what exactly happened on Saturday night when three of his officers had an encounter with freshman LSU wide receiver Koy Moore. Moore says he was harassed and violated by the cops who assumed he had a gun and drugs. Paul says their internal affairs investigators are leading the probe.

The 256th Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the Louisiana National Guard is shipping out this week for a nearly year-long deployment to the Middle East. About 2,000 soldiers are involved in the mission. Col.
