Restaurants and cafes are allowed to offer dine-in services as the state begins phase one of reopening the economy today. Restaurants and other businesses are limited to 25-percent of occupancy. The guidance issued to child care centers calls for them to practice social distancing, monitoring symptoms of COVID-19, and frequent environmental cleaning.

The Sabine Parish town of Many will not actively enforce the Governor’s new proclamation according to Mayor Kenneth Freeman. Freeman believes the residents of Many are doing a good job with mitigation efforts without law enforcement intervention.

In a message to residents, Freeman says if someone needs to shelter at home, that is their choice and he encourages that to continue. For others, he’s asking them to practice social distancing, wear a mask and wash hands frequently.

LSU’s virtual commencement ceremony for spring graduates gets underway at 10 AM. Interim president Thomas Galligan encourages grads to wear their gap and gown as they watch the ceremony from a computer or tablet…
