Governor Edwards has extended the stay-at-home order through May 15th, because the state continues to see coronavirus cases and hospitalization rise in northeast Louisiana, Acadiana and the Baton Rouge area. Edwards says the state ranks sixth in the nation in per capita infections…

The news that many businesses will remain closed is not good for the Louisiana Oil and Gas industry..

That’s Louisiana Oil and Gas Association President Gifford Briggs who is calling for a complete suspension of state severance taxes and an end to coastal lawsuits against oil companies.

Even though there are fewer motorists on the roads, the state is reporting an increase in fatal crashes. Louisiana Highway Safety Commission executive director Lisa Freeman says too many drivers are engaging in risky behaviors that put themselves and others at risk of serious injury…

Between March 16th to April 20th there were 66 fatal crashes in Louisiana, during the same time period last year there were 61.

The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness has set up two new drive-thru COVID-19 testing sites, one at Donaldsonville Primary School in Ascension Parish and the other at the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Range in Raceland. GOHSEP spokesperson Mike Steele says people will be assessed once they arrive at the site…
