Louisiana’s Insurance Commissioner is warning motorists looking for a used car to watch out for vehicles flooded in Texas by Tropical Storm Imelda. Insurance department spokesperson John Tobler says once a vehicle’s engine and electronics become waterlogged, it is almost impossible to correct those issues, so look for red flags like stains, mildew, rust, mismatching carpet, and discoloration.
Governor Edwards’ campaign is hoping to court Ralph Abraham voters with a new ad highlighting Eddie Rispone’s attacks against the Congressman during the primary. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says Edwards hopes the ad will pick off disillusioned conservatives who voted for Abraham but can’t stomach Rispone.

Louisiana State Police arrested an Alabama man who was on the run for a double homicide. Police say 48-year old Aaron Gess was apprehended without incident in Webster Parish on Interstate 20 Tuesday. He is wanted in connection with the murder of his brother and twin sister in Macon County. Alabama authorities say the suspect has a history of mental illness and had made threats to resist apprehension. Gess is awaiting extradition back to Alabama.
