LSU Football Coach Ed Orgeron says reinstated offensive lineman Ed Ingram looks fantastic and could start when the Tigers host Utah State next Saturday. Ingram started 12 games in 2017, but missed all of 2018, after he was arrested for aggravated sexual assault. The charge was dismissed last week. Saints Punter Thomas Morstead is the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Morstead averaged 54 yards a punt in the 33-27 win over Seattle.

McNeese dropped its Southland opener last week to Abilene Christian and this Saturday the Cowboys return home to host Sam Houston State. McNeese scored 34 points in a season-opening win over Southern, but since then they’ve scored 41 points in three games. First-year head coach Sterling Gilbert believes hard work will eventually produce better results

In the SWAC, Southern visits Arkansas-Pine Bluff for its conference opener. Coach Dawson Odums says he’s evaluating the quarterback position as Ladarius Skelton has struggled. Grambling faces Prairie View A-and-M in the State Fair Classic in Dallas. The Tigers are still looking for their first win.
